If the person who remarried confessed they sinned against God and their former partner, and seek to be restored, is not the Grace of the Lord able to do that, and to now bless their new marriage then?

No, repentance is a change of mind. A change of mind about who Jesus is (he's the Messiah.)

There's that works based salvation again.

God permits it to happen still, due to us still being those who will disobey Him and sin, but God still has His grace there to provide for either reconciliation, or to forgive/bless new marriage!

Interesting that 1689Dave holds with grace and not Law, as he claims that we reformed do, and yet is he not going all out on Law here?

Moses permitted divorce. And this was because of the hardness of the unbeliever's heart. Christ's body is believers only. And if they do not overcome sin, they are not genuine members of the body. Christ abolished divorce with the OT law. If civil law permits divorce, God does not. "Let no man promote divorce" (loosely quoted). All divorce is unforgiveness. And all remarriage is adultery.

Only if repented of by the one initiating it.

Without holiness (continual repentance), no one will see the Lord.

Can a prostitute turned Christian keep her job?

Sin unrepented of remains unforgiven. The elect will repent.

Marriage between infidels is still marriage in God's sight. And divorce is still unfounded and unforgiveness. And remarriage is still adultery to be repented of. This is true of any before ar after they become a Christian.

If one has not reached a state of sinless perfection, one cannot be part of the Body?

The person who sinned confesses that to God, is he forgiven by God then, in his new marriage?

No. Marriage is until death. And subsequent marriage is adultery.

You are not part of the body if you habitually live a sinful lifestyle. Even if you think you are. “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” (1 John 3:9) (KJV 1900)

Are we made holy by our good works, or due to being now in Christ?

    Please define "habitually".

Are you God? Can you make these sorts of judgments?

You see divorce as being the unpardonable sin, and yet God said that ONLY rejecting Jesus to save you is!

You cannot live a sinful lifestyle as a Christian because of the New Birth.
