Palestinians, Israel

He believes Gaza is a modern day concentration camp because the Palestinians are not free to enter Israel or Egypt for that matter. Hmmm. I wonder he believes the US should have open borders.

The UN recognized the Gaza Strip and the West Bank as a Palestinian state with representation in the UN, but without a vote. The Arab nation claims the issue regarding the Palestinians is an all-Arab issue. However, the Arab states refuse to allow Palestinian refugees into their countries. the reason given is they are afraid settlements within their borders would become launching pads for Hamas to attack Israel.

There are also two key issues that are overlooked. The first is Hamas' foundation charter of 1988, which contained overtly antisemitic language and explicitly called for the total obliteration of Israel through jihad. This is actually an incitement to genocide. Although they updated their charter in 2017 stating that its conflict is with the "Zionist project" (Zionists) rather than with Jews because of their religion. The update of their charter was nothing more than a guise to make them appear innocent and victims of genocide. The intent is still the same and as they still continue to attack the Jews, and what they did on October 7, reflects the genocide.

The guise they made with their charter has successfully made Hamas to be the victims of what they did on October 7. Look at how all the demonstrations in the US with people holding Palestinian flags while condemning Israel's response rather than condemning what Hamas did.

You're most likely going to argue this point, stating it was Hamas' intent to take hostages to negotiate the release of 3,000 Palestinians from Israeli prisons. If that is so, then why did they murder 1,200 Jews?

Like many, you may argue the Israeli response attacking the Gaza Strip was an act of genocide. What Hamas did was an act of war. One state attacking another by entering through its borders and gunning down innocent people. Israel's response was typical. That was how most any other country would have reacted, to include ours. Look at what caused us to enter both world wars.

Hamas is an extremist Islamic organization no different than Hezbollah, al Qaeda, and ISIS. Hamas uses the Palestinians as a shield. They don't care about the Palestinians. They withheld the food and other supplies from the people provided by other nations. Hamas will take care of its own "soldiers" before the people.

Read the prophecies regarding Israel today and the future. Then tell me whether or not it was God's will that the Jews return and reestablish Israel.

I watched a little, just enough to turn me off, so I turned it off. Mearsheimer started out with, "So what happened on October 7th, is basically that the inmates broke out of the concentration camp." That is absolutely disgusting. In philosophical terms, he is making the Israeli treatment of Palestinians (just Arabs, really) the moral equivalence of German concentration camps. Stunning and evil sophistry.

He is comparing Gaza, which was self-ruled by Hamas (not Israel) before the October 7 attack, with the German concentration camps of WW2. The incredible difference is that in WW2, the Germans killed 6 million Jews by many different means, including gas ovens, shooting, stabbing, and many other methods. However, on October 7, Hamas "only" killed 1139 Jews by stabbing, torture, shooting, and other ways. Both times it was other people killing Jews.

Unbelievable.

Perhaps if you watched the video you would find out what really is going on.

Your theory is Netanyahu conspired with Hamas to attack on October 7. I seriously doubt that. I'd like to see the conflict between Israel and Hamas come to an end. That's not going to happen because Hamas wants to obliterate Israel. This is a jihad for them as they want to along with the other extreme Islamic factions start a new caliphate. Israel exists because God wants it to. Study Revelations and open your eyes.

That stopped me from watching it as well. Instead I did a search on JJ Mearsheimer and read what he believes on the situation. I came to the conclusion he is antisemetic.

The opening statement was mistaken enough, and actually an outright lie, so that I can't see how listening to anything by the man would be helpful.

Gaza was ruled by Hamas, correct? So it was not a "concentration camp," was it? And Hamas is a terrorist organization, correct? And it was they who attacked Israel first, right? These facts are universally accepted, even by the foes of Israel. What can the man possible say that would inform me? Hew obviously gave this screed for those already convinced, not to inform.

No doubt. Antisemitism is the de rigueur position of the modern liberal (theological or political, either one). I don't see how a good Christian can take seriously what an antisemite like him says, since the position is so far from being biblical.

QUOTE "Public Stance: In his writings and public commentary regarding Judaism, Zionism, and Middle East politics (such as his work on the Israel lobby), he has explicitly stated that he holds no animus toward Judaism as a religion" END QUOTE. WIKIPEDIA

As chairman of Chicago's political science department at the time, Mearsheimer sat down with Noelle-Neumann to discuss the article and the allegations. After meeting with her for over three hours, Mearsheimer publicly declared, "I believe that Noelle-Neumann was an anti-Semite",[87] and he spearheaded a campaign to ask her for an apology.[88] He joined other University of Chicago faculty in writing a joint piece for Commentary that reacted to Noelle-Neumann's reply to the accusation against her. They declared that "by providing rhetorical support for the exclusion of Jews, her words helped make the disreputable reputable, the indecent decent, the uncivilized civilized, and the unthinkable thinkable."[89] Mearsheimer said, "Knowing what we know now about the Holocaust, there is no reason for her not to apologize. To ask somebody who played a contributing role in the greatest crime of the 20th century to say 'I'm sorry' is not unreasonable

Did you know that universities and college professors prohibit students from using Wikipedia as a source when writing research papers? I went back to college to complete my bachelor's degree in business in 1998. All my professors prohibited. From 2015-2017, I went back to college and completed my MBA. Again, using Wikipedia as a source was prohibited. Why you ask?

Wikipedia is considered an encyclopedia, which means it summarizes information from other places rather than providing original research or primary evidence. Academic writing requires primary or secondary sources. Because anyone can edit Wikipedia pages at any time, the content can change constantly. Academic citations require a stable, verifiable snapshot of a source. Wikipedia has no formal, mandatory peer-review system by domain experts to guarantee accuracy, and it can be vulnerable to errors, bias, vandalism, or hoaxes.

BTW, using YouTube videos of "influencers" is not a legitimate source either because they often parrot what they have heard or read and give their spin on it.

Everything I have read written by Mearsheimer indicates he is in fact antisemetic.

You would be wrong, plain and simple. You are mistaken.

I already did.
Please read this article from The Atlantic: https://www.theatlantic.com/nationa...r-apologist-and-holocaust-revisionist/245518/

If Mearsheimer is not an antisemite, why is he endorsing a "Hitler Apologist and Holocaust Revisionist" as the headline says and the article proves? I believe the quotes from Mearsheimer prove that he is an antisemite. The writer actually checked personally with Mearsheimer to make sure the quotes were accurate, and they are.
