    Question for Baptists

That's right! I believe in believers baptism as a symbol of the baptism that saved me. I believe we receive the Holy Spirit as Paul said in Eph. 1:13.

    Question for Baptists

Cathode, we Baptists argue about many things but water baptism is not one of them.

Not going to argue, Jon. I have respect for your position as I have already mentioned.

The TRUE meaning of biblical Justification

Well, we disagree, but I'm not going to argue, K.

The top 10 Theories of the Atonement of Christ explained

Yes, I agree with that. But as @JonC has keep saying it's a concept not actually written in black an white. While I do agree with the concept, at the same time I give Jon credit for sticking by the stuff, as we Southerners say.

The top 10 Theories of the Atonement of Christ explained

That's one of the many reasons I'm a (non-Calvinist) Independent Baptist.

The top 10 Theories of the Atonement of Christ explained

I certainly believe in Penal Substitution, but not in the Calvinist way. I believe it's available to all of mankind!

The TRUE meaning of biblical Justification

So that everyone understands and are not misled. "Doing good" is a matter of works, but works can be directed in 2 ways. We can set our minds to works to get saved or we can set our minds to works because we are saved. If we set our minds to do works to get saved we have made a grave...

Biblical Predestination, What is it? Why do some object to it?

I tend to spit out what roles from the head, having already discussed this topic many, many times.

Biblical Predestination, What is it? Why do some object to it?

I guess it's obvious I don't pay that much attention to proper grammar.

I believe ALL who ever existed will be in God's Kingdom.

That's no problem for the Universalist, 37818. They will flash before your eyes "Every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." They actually believe this confession will be from all of mankind being saved.

Biblical Predestination, What is it? Why do some object to it?

The first test of any passage of Scripture, does it harmonize will the flow of Scripture. We can see that something is off with the Calvinist view of this passage. The first 5 words in vs 29 bring a huge conflict. What did God see in His foreknowledge, "For whom He did foreknow?" Did He...

    Saved Without Hearing The Gospel?

Someone will say that I'm adding to Scripture what is not there. Im not stating a fact in Scripture because it's not there, I'm stating what I believe. I believe there many saved in Egypt when the 10 plagues took place and some of the Egyptians with no knowledge of a coming Christ believed what...

    Saved Without Hearing The Gospel?

Those are the Hebrews/Jews, the conversation is about the Gentiles who had no way of knowing, unless they came in contact with the Hebrews and learned from them, as some did. But the rest of the Gentile world didn't know, and God did not pass them by who He knew would believe.

    Saved Without Hearing The Gospel?

This takes us back to Rahab, Naaman, and all the rest of Gentiles that were saved before Christ was revealed in person. They had no knowledge of Christ and the Gospel, and were saved by the faith in Heb. 11, which was faith in the One true God. Their sins were covered by the Blood of Lamb...

    Saved Without Hearing The Gospel?

It's even possible that Abraham passed down this knowledge to Isaac, then to Jacob, then to his sons, the 12 tribes. But the point I'm making is that the Gentiles in pagan lands had no way of knowing.

    Saved Without Hearing The Gospel?

Exactly right, Z. Whether you believe God actually spoke to Abraham or revealed this to him in a dream or vision, doesn't matter. What matters is that Abraham wouldn't have known anything about the coming the Christ if God hadn't revealed it to him. Abraham was different in that through his...

    Saved Without Hearing The Gospel?

The Gentiles like Rahab, Naaman, the Ninevites that repented at Jonah's preaching. All the Gentiles that lived before Christ who lived in pagan lands with knowledge of pagan gods and no knowledge of the One True God and His Christ.
