Will the Jews build a new temple in Jerusalem?

Jesus was speaking to those then present. Besides, where is the temple if what you say is right? Didn't Jesus say He is the temple?

    The Truth Is Not Disrespect

They are married. Marriage/wedding is nothing more than a public announcement of dedication to each other. Are divorced people who again marry really married? Yes, but it is an adulterous marriage.

The word of Christ versus the word of God.

Are you a Jehovah's Witness or a member of some other cult?

The word of Christ versus the word of God.

Jesus IS God. You need to study this.

Saving Faith a gift? Part Deux

“Now faith is the substance [hypostasis] of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) Notice that the word substance is the same word used for person in Hebrews 1:3. [Jesus] “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person [hypostasis], and...

Saving Faith a gift? Part Deux

See Hebrews 11:1. BTW, you are dragging us off-topic so I'm going to dismiss any of your further replies.

Saving Faith a gift? Part Deux

Human faith cannot save no matter how much you think it does. Holy Spirit faith is supernatural, but unless you experience it you can only assume the arm of the flesh can save you.

God's Word or contains God's Word

I think all of the 66 books are God's word. But the OT, often colored by the human understanding of the writer was made clear by the NT. That is, the human writer would see God as repenting whereas the NT writer would see predestination of some events as though God was repenting.

Saving Faith a gift? Part Deux

I experienced Christ in my heart, rather unexpectedly one day, and the experience caused me to believe. Faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. I still have the witness of the Holy Spirit some 50+ years later and He still causes me to believe. No decision is necessary if you experience Christ and...

    Imputation

But if he plans your martyrdom, it is the greatest position you can be in with rewards commensurate in heaven.

    Imputation

This is true. But scripture teaches a better resurrection for some. Do you think the martyrs do not reap rewards for their faith?
  12. 1689Dave

    Imputation

This is how it works. Paul says believers have Christ's imputed righteousness just as they once had Adam's imputed sin. So we cannot perish. Salvation is out of our hands. But Paul teaches that we have our own wood, hay, stubble works that can merit reward in the resurrection. Or be burnt up...

What if Calvinism & Arminianism are both wrong

Have you ever experienced a backslide? How about the incestuous Corinthian brother who Paul turned over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh so that his soul would be saved? Do you ever pray "lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil"? You should. None of us are above the worst...

Judas partook of the original Lord's supper.

But you save yourself by "accepting".
  15. 1689Dave

Judas partook of the original Lord's supper.

“The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and...

What if Calvinism & Arminianism are both wrong

I find Luther everywhere in scripture according to the Bondage of the will. But I cannot find Lutheranism anywhere. Can you provide at least one scripture to identify Lutheranism in the New Testament? Where is your system of salvation found anywhere in the New Testament? How are you supposedly...

What if Calvinism & Arminianism are both wrong

I should mention that I don't spend time on lengthy posts. If you cannot say it in a few words, you don't know your subject well enough.

What if Calvinism & Arminianism are both wrong

Martin Luther says; First, God has promised certainly His grace to the humbled: that is, to the self-deploring and despairing. But a man cannot be thoroughly humbled, until he comes to know that his salvation is utterly beyond his own powers, counsel, endeavours, will, and works, and absolutely...

What if Calvinism & Arminianism are both wrong

But he refuted free will as a means of salvation. Lutherans believe anyone can be saved which proves they reject Luther.

What if Calvinism & Arminianism are both wrong

But Luther taught against free will, something that is central to your teaching.
