    OSAS made simple

I'll just ignore your comment. As James proves we do not have free will since we cannot control our tongues (typing fingers).

I love my wife more than I do myself. This is really filthy of you and makes me wonder how you treat your wife if you even have one that will tolerate you.

    Psalm 5:5b vs. John 3:16

World = the new heavens and earth too. It will be a saved world. God hates sinners and their sins. (lots of proof if needed).

    Death Penalty: My view

It's not the role of the Christian to bear the sword. It's the role of the civil magistrate who God sanctions to kill on behalf of the State. Christians in the magistrate's office have conflicting roles and cannot follow Christ's doctrine of non-restance of evil.

Are you still willing to trust in salvation by works instead of the blood of Christ?

    OSAS made simple

“Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Romans 5:9 (KJV 1900)

But the elect are saved based on the atonement even if they haven't any good works?

What evidence does the elect infant have?
  9. 1689Dave

    OSAS made simple

You are still wrapped up in salvation by works. What about infants and those beyond the reach of the gospel? The Westminster says they are saved too apart from the gospel. You are ignoring that salvation is in the Atonement. And works are the evidence.

    OSAS made simple

You are teaching works salvation. What I'm saying is that we are saved no matter what. Even our worst sins cannot prevent our salvation. Go ahead and gasp a few times, it's all right. Because God gives us a nature that hates sin and loves righteousness. So while you are trying to mend the flesh...

It seems. I've never read Institutes. What I know is the 5 points are true to scripture up until points 4-5 which teaches salvation by works, albeit coerced works.
  12. 1689Dave

    OSAS made simple

Possibly by teaching Limited Atonement. Points 4-5 are not logically consistent. Limited atonement saves the elect. Not perseverance of the saints (works).
  13. 1689Dave

    OSAS made simple

They are not in line with Limited Atonement that saves intrinsically.

    OSAS made simple

Points 4 & 5 of the 5 points of Calvinism.
  15. 1689Dave

    OSAS made simple

They don't teach universal atonement. But their points 4-5 teach Arminian style salvation by works, but under divine coercion. As though Calvin taught universal atonement. = they are logically inconsistant.

But it's the victims of the bad teacher who are the evidence. This would include you or me. This is why I don't trust teachers. I'm sharing some precious truth but you only trample it under foot.

I don't have a Facebook registration for obvious reasons.

    OSAS made simple

But we each need to read institutes to know for sure. I'm just saying evidence from Dort suggests he taught universal atonement.
  19. 1689Dave

    OSAS made simple

He says Calvin taught limited atonement. But I'm not convinced.
  20. 1689Dave

    OSAS made simple

I don't know that for a fact. Dort is based on universal atonement in points 4 & 5.
