    "Formal" vs "Functional"

Just a simple example: being "angry" is not the same thing as being "furious."

    "Formal" vs "Functional"

What do you like about the LSB? Anything specific about it that makes you consider it to be a very good choice?

About the worst Baptist preacher I ever heard...

It reminds me of the country music singers who grow up in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, move to Nashville, Tennessee, and suddenly sound as if they were born and raised in the South.

    Culturally Reformed

Makes me long for the days of bumper stickers. ;)

For those who use the New King James Version (NKJV) ...

Agreed. However, take away those features, and you still have an excellent Bible translation in the main text.

For those who use the New King James Version (NKJV) ...

One thing I like about the NKJV is that they didn't go overboard when it came to updating archaic language. The translators were very measured and judicious, in that regard.

    Blue Bible

One thing I appreciate about the Blue Letter Bible is that it has the 1995 edition of the NASB, and the 2020 edition, also. It's so helpful to be able to read them side by side! In this manner, I can easily observe the changes made in any given verse, as a result of the latest update.

For those of you who use the King James Version (KJV) as your primary translation ...

One of the many reasons I like to use the KJV as one of my primary translations is sheer respect for the KJV Bible's impact and influence on twentieth century American culture and history.

If You're Arminian In Your Theology ...

If You're Arminian In Your Theology ... I would like to hear what that means to you. (And please feel free to compare and contrast Arminian Theology to Calvinist Theology, if you so desire).

    Questions about watching TV

One thing I really like about Westerns is the dialogue, which reminds me of the KJV. "I reckon your new to these parts. By the way, I believe I know some of your kinfolk. God forbid I tell that fella!"

What Does "God Created Music" Mean?

Yes, that's exactly what Mandy said. ;)

What Does "God Created Music" Mean?

I wonder how I'm able to READ your posts. The internet, perhaps? Since I READ your posts on the internet, I suppose they must be true? Or should I assume they're not? Thank you for pointing out the fact that I should doubt the veracity of what I READ on the internet. I will READ your posts...

Yes, I would specifically recommend reading the Book of Judges. :)

If You Used To Be A Calvinist ...

If you used to be a Calvinist, but have since changed your point of view, I'd appreciate knowing your reason(s) for doing so. Thank you.

    Your Five Favorite Bible Translations?

Yes, after all these years, it has stood the test of time. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

What Does "God Created Music" Mean?

Are you familiar with the song, which was recorded by Barry Manilow, "I Write The Songs?" The songwriter, Bruce Johnston, stated it was about the Holy Spirit, inspiring men to write music.

The original written word of God.

I have to admit: when I'm reading the ESV, I do miss those italics.

Would you include the ESV on this list?
