    Cruel and unjust God?

I've read it many times, and I understand the passage just fine. It does no such thing. I am aware of why you think it does; after all, I used to hold to a Theology very much like yours. I even used to think that Adam's sin caused the weird change in man's constitution such that sin-guilt...

    Cruel and unjust God?

In what passage was it that God cursed mankind? I remember the account in Genesis, God cursed the serpent, and he cursed the ground. I recall no curse upon mankind. No. the Redeemer was incarnated because mankind had to pay the price for the sin of mankind. God, in his love, incarnated...

    Cruel and unjust God?

Not in Latin. They were translated into Dutch in the late seventies and finally into English in 2000 (or therebouts by Theodore de Bruyn) I don't care about Pelagius. He is not at issue here, nor are his teachings. If you promote believers Baptism by immersion........(contra Augustine for...

    Cruel and unjust God?

Man died. Just like the Bible says they would. They still die. Even Jesus died because he no more escaped the results of "the fall" than any other man. Docetism is heresy. I will have no part of it, nor any Theological system which demands it.

    Cruel and unjust God?

Maybe. It depends on what form of Universalism one teaches. There are a million versions of it, some of which involve everyone who doesn't submit in this life paying a price for their sins before being eventually drawn to salvation ultimately. It's not Biblical, but it could satisfy the terms of...

    Cruel and unjust God?

I know what Wikipedia says about "Pelagianism".... I've known it for years. I also don't care what Wikipedia says about "Pelagianism". Pelagius wasn't even a "Pelagian". That term is tatamount to meaningless. Although it is obviously true that it is unjust to punish one person for the sins of...

    Cruel and unjust God?

I believe they become sinners when they sin. I don't believe they are born condemned by the sins of Adam. I believe Jesus was a human born like all other humans in respect to this question. I believe Jesus was not a sinner because Jesus never sinned.

    Cruel and unjust God?

No. That is, unless they are born condemned for the sins of their forefathers before they ever drew breath. If, however, they are only condemned for their own rebellion God is under no obligation to save anyone.

    John Gerstner's Unbiblical Nonsense!

"Destroyed" means: "Destroyed". Prove otherwise. No one has brought up "Cease to exist" except you: I agree, The Bible says nothing about "Cease to exist". The Bible does say: "DESTROY". and "DESTROY" means "DESTROY". Your move.

    John Gerstner's Unbiblical Nonsense!

No he doesn't. Prove that. AHA! So, God DESTROYS both body and Soul in hell!! And here, I thought you weren't an Annihilationist. I thought you believed God intentionally kept people alive for the sole purpose of torturing them forever. Good to know you aren't as lost as I thought. Yes, God can...

    John Gerstner's Unbiblical Nonsense!

He says ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT HELL, BECAUSE NO WRITER OF SCRIPTURE DOES. He says PLENTY about the fate of the damned: (as all Scripture writers do) He says PLENTY about the fate of the lost: (as all Scripture writers do) And he says God takes no pleasure in their "DEATH". "DEATH" is the fate...

    John Gerstner's Unbiblical Nonsense!

Tell that to Jonathan Edwards, Isaac Newton, and Isaac Waats (who no doubt is a celebrated hymn-writer you use every Sunday).

So, you are scared. Got it.

    Annihilationism or Eternal Torment

Do you want to put paid to it with a Public, moderated, formal debate? As long as it's posted on Youtube and for everyone on Baptist Board to observe, I think you could demonstrate your point magnificently. This should be easy for you. No way, that since the Scriptures are so overwhelmingly in...

    Annihilationism or Eternal Torment

The "worm" in Psalms 22 (which is utterly irrelevant to the conversation may indeed not be a maggot. Don't know. The Psalm has nothing to do with the topic at hand. The "worm" in Mark 9 (which is not original to Jesus or Mark) comes from Isaiah 66 and other O.T. books. Jesus didn't invent...

    Annihilationism or Eternal Torment

By your same logic then, it is irrelevant what supposed cults believe any given thing. That's the point. Your "arguments" are childish and elementary. Your "arguments" are standard fare for your side. Your "arguments" are precisely why thinking bible-believing evangelicals are abandoning your...

    Annihilationism or Eternal Torment

And Muslims and Mormons agree with you.. See how these lines of arguments don't do any good?
