New Testament Quotations of the Old Testament

I have a question, what evidence is there that there was an LXX that existed before the time of Christ and the Apostles? I have heard often that the Apostles quoted the LXX, but I am wondering if that is really the case?

New Testament Quotations of the Old Testament

I know there are some languages that actually do not ever use passive voice. so in some languages if you translated you would have to change passive constructions to active.

    Prom Season

Proms are mostly filled with worldly sensual carnality. the music typically is all worldly sensual pop music. the dancing tends to be very sensual as well. Not sure why anyone virtuous would want to go to a high school prom. I suppose at prom there are some kids who go and hang out with their...

New Testament Quotations of the Old Testament

You mean Hebrew typography? Morphology is the study of morphemes (the smallest meaningful parts of a word) and how morphemes are added to words to change and modify the meanings of words.

New Testament Quotations of the Old Testament

I'm not really sure that the New Testament quotes of the Old Testament with slight variation can used to support Dynamic Equivalency. The New Testament writers wrote under inspiration and the Holy Spirit has the authority to quote the Old Testament with whatever variations he wanted. I do not...

Diet Health Blue Zones and prophetic messages given to Ellen White on health

Col 2:16-17 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. 1Ti 4:1-5 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart...

Does 1 Corinthians 13:8-12 teach the sign gifts have ceased?

Jesus is a “that”? I’m pretty sure that NT Greek grammar does not allow for the “that” to be Christ because “that” is in the neuter gender? Or something like that.

Does 1 Corinthians 13:8-12 teach the sign gifts have ceased?

A few points 1. The question is not whether or not sign gifts will cease, but when, have they ceased, or is the ceasing yet off in the future. 2. As for James 1 I fail to see how that proves anything. When James 1 was written the NT was not even completed.

Does 1 Corinthians 13:8-12 teach the sign gifts have ceased?

Many preachers teach that 1 Corinthians 13:8-12 teaches that the sign gifts will cease, the claim is that the "perfect" of vs 10 is the completed canon of scriptures. However I have a hard time seeing how the completed scriptures were what enable Paul to "know even as I also am known". I am...

Is King James Version Onlyism is a Form of Idolatry?

I agree with David Cloud when he says "The Scripture is not an ordinary book; it is the Word of the Living God and as such one must exercise extreme caution in handling it. Even to tamper with the words of a human author is a serious matter and there are laws against it, but how much more...

When did the lost know God?

one easy way to interpret this is through the New Testament and even by Calvary God has revealed his wrath against all ungodliness and righteousness. I mean the very fact that Paul is writing Romans 1:18 is the revelation of the wrath of God. The NT is full of warnings and prophecies about the...

    Allegoricalism

Seventh, practical necessity demands the literal interpretation of prophecy. To interpret Bible prophecy allegorically destroys the absolute sense of God’s Word. It ceases to be a “sure word” (2 Pe. 1:19). If prophecy does not mean exactly what it says, there is no way to know what it does...
