Church Unity Is More Important Than Being Theologically Correct

And so do you think false doctrine only applies to those related to "primary" doctrine?

Church Unity Is More Important Than Being Theologically Correct

Then how do you explain Romans 16:17, do you read into Romans 16:17 the idea that it somehow only applies to "primary" doctrines?

Church Unity Is More Important Than Being Theologically Correct

“Many have been carried away from full obedience by a noble-sounding motto which has been applied to Christian work. ‘In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, and in all things charity.’ Some things are not essential to salvation but they are essential to full obedience, and the Christian...

Church Unity Is More Important Than Being Theologically Correct

"WHAT ABOUT ROMANS 14? Some try to use Romans 14 to support the philosophy of “in non-essentials liberty,” but Romans 14 does not say that some Bible doctrine is non-essential. It says that we are to allow one another liberty in matters in which the Bible is silent! The examples that Paul gives...

Church Unity Is More Important Than Being Theologically Correct

Still doesn't prove that any doctrine is unimportant and that we shouldn't be concerned with "secondary" doctrines. " The Bible position is the ALL THINGS principle. Consider the Old Testament law. Its requirement was summarized in Deuteronomy 27:26, which Paul cited as follows: “Cursed is...

Church Unity Is More Important Than Being Theologically Correct

Romans 14:15 has nothing to do with doctrine, but deals with personal preferences and diet choices. It is dishonest to use this to support the Neo-Evangelical myth of “secondary” doctrines. The Bible describes false doctrine in two categories, one is “damnable heresy” and the other is just...

Church Unity Is More Important Than Being Theologically Correct

This is apples and oranges. 1 John 5:7 is a clear passage on the trinity. And I do fully accept the Johanine Comma as authentic. Nowhere does the Bible teach that any doctrines are primary or secondary, there is no such concept taught in the word of God.

Church Unity Is More Important Than Being Theologically Correct

Where in the bible is any doctrine described as secondary or tertiary?

    Conversion after death

"for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23 "there is none righteous no not one" Romans 3:10 You can extol and claim Buddha was pure and righteous and all those things, but the bible says he is a sinner, and as quoted above that all his righteousness is as filthy rags...

Eschatological and Millennial Theories and their problems.

Even still, cannot the genitive of that passage actually carry the idea of his Kingdom not being of this world meaning it’s source? Seems the OP wants to force a very narrow interpretation of the genitive clause onto the text. In fact I think the original poster is refuted by this verse John...

Eschatological and Millennial Theories and their problems.

Obviously Christ's kingdom is Spirit, God is a spirit..But you have to ignore large sections of scripture and twist many passages to say that the Spiritual Kingdom of God will never be manifested in a Physical kingdom as well... There is a physical kingdom coming. the bible teaches it.

    Divorce and Remarriage

I would venture to say that we misunderstand the "exception clause". I think based upon the character of God and his hatred of divorce, we should reconsider if the exception clause really means that in cases of adultery that divorce and/or remarriage is acceptable.' Why would Jesus go all the...

    Divorce and Remarriage

I use to subscribe the view that TCassidy is promoting, however I will state my current views now: I believe the exception clause refers to 1. Incestuous marriages (See Leviticus 18) (I also believe all sodomite "marriages" and sad that I have to say in our time and age but beastiality...

    M. A. in Bible Translation

I would actually consider the M.A. in Bible Translation with BCM. But I only have like 3 credits of Greek.. haha. Plus probably a lot of the stuff I have learned here at BBTI would be similar of not identical to some of the courses offered there. I am actually considering doing an Master's of...

    M. A. in Bible Translation

Yes I meant receptor language. The focus of BBTI is missions with an emphasis on groups that have no bibles in their language, no language schools, no written language etc the emphasis here is getting language acquisition skills and building all around skills to the end of Evangelism. However...

    M. A. in Bible Translation

Here at Baptist Bible Translators Institute we have a course on bible translation, they do teach us phonetics, phonemics, morphology and syntax. It’s been really helpful for me being here. How does someone help a bible translation without knowing the source language though? I don’t really...
