    Clarifying KJVO

I’m assuming you actually mean 1John 5:7? “It should also be noted that Michael Maynard significantly points out that there are only 5 remaining Greek manuscripts that even contain the epistle of 1 John in whole or in part that date from the 7th century or before. That is a whole lot of time to...

Apostates and Heretics behind the texts underlying modern translations

This is a smokescreen, Obviously Erasmus had to do some textual criticism when putting out his Greek Textus Receptus seeing as there was no Printed Greek text yet available, that does not however mean that he followed Westcott and Hort’s ridiculous elevation of corrupt manuscripts like Vaticanus...

Apostates and Heretics behind the texts underlying modern translations

Since Erasmus did not leave a list of rules he used to determine how he compiled his TR, there is no way someone could conclude he was along the same stripes of Westcott and Hort.

    Clarifying KJVO

Yes and I do believe English speakers should only read and study the KJV. I believe all other versions are not as accurate and profitable.

    Irrelevant.

Apostates and Heretics behind the texts underlying modern translations

I do believe modern versions are inferior translations especially the more dynamic ones like the NIV, and then the NASB and ESV are based on corrupted texts, however I believe the Gospel is found in them all (Romans 1:16)

Apostates and Heretics behind the texts underlying modern translations

Well that person does not understand salvation then let alone bible translations.

    Clarifying KJVO

Even though I myself am KJVO, I guess technically I am very heavily King James Prefered but the word preferred seems to weak for my position. I am seeing a lot of nutty and quirky arguments for the King James Bible, and I am tired of responding to straw man arguments. For example no you do not...

Apostates and Heretics behind the texts underlying modern translations

You clearly are not reading my posts otherwise you wouldn’t be asking this question. I made it clear when I quoted David Cloud. However to answer your question, the written word of God prior to 1611 was contained in the Masoretic Text and Textus Receptus and all other faithful translations...

Apostates and Heretics behind the texts underlying modern translations

What you are referring to is a Ruckmanite, which is not in “my camp”. I agree with David Cloud “If “King James Only” defines one who believes that God has given infallible Scripture in the original Greek and Hebrew writings and that He has preserved that in the Hebrew Masoretic and Greek...

Well I don’t. So the argumentation about it is irrelevant.

HAS GOD'S WORD BEEN PURIFIED SEVEN TIMES?

As a KJO, I want to go on the record that I reject this type of reasoning for being KJO.

Apostates and Heretics behind the texts underlying modern translations

Such a strawman. I nor any KJO person I know believes one has to use the KJV to be saved. Stop with this outlandish remark.

Apostates and Heretics behind the texts underlying modern translations

Yes but if you study these people you will see that they piggyback off of the schola false. They impact the teachings and doctrines of many specific verses. If the changes affect the meaning of 1 verse, then that means a change of doctrine, for all scripture is profitable for doctrine.

Why a Baptist should not run for political office:

But even they refused to sin when commanded to. If it is really such a great sin for men like this to be in service of “Babylon” or the world system, then I’m sure they both would have refused to serve and suffered the consequences like a Daniel in the lions den or with the prayer order and like...

Apostates and Heretics behind the texts underlying modern translations

Apples and oranges in my opinion. Your talking about moral failures vs blatant heresies and apostasy in regard to bibliology That would be like trusting Richard Dawkins on the existence of God.

Why a Baptist should not run for political office:

Tell that to Daniel and Joseph.

Apostates and Heretics behind the texts underlying modern translations

David Cloud is most certainly more of a bigger scholar than you Rippon. David Cloud has written a encyclopedia for Christianity, a Bible dictionary, has written commentaries on several books of the Bible, has written hundreds upon hundreds of weekly and daily articles on different issues...

Apostates and Heretics behind the texts underlying modern translations

Slander: to make false and damaging statements about (someone). What statement did I make that is false? Do you not consider it to be apostasy and heresy to do things like questioning the canon of scripture, believing that genesis is not literal, questioning that peter wrote the epistles that...
