    5200 troops to the border--enough?

I agree. Mexico should enforce their laws. Since they did not, our primary beef should be with them. We do not have methods and procedures to deal with unarmed, civilian invaders.

I am not familiar with all other translations, therefore have no basis on which to answer your question. Which translation do you consider correct?

Perfect compared to what? Provide a source document for comparison. Thereupon, a comparison can be made. However, how can the document provided for comparison be proven to be perfect? Round n' Round we go!!

"Without fault" compared to what document and by whom? I have no reason to think that the translators of the original KJV had any motive but to provide the most truthful translation/interpretation they possibly could. If factual evidence exists proving otherwise, please provide it.

Does one or more translations restrict or constrict the effectual work of the Holy Spirit convicting lost sinners of their need to repent and accept Jesus Christ as their savior more than another? If so, identify the one/s that inhibit God's purpose and fight against it/those. If any...

The Role of Women in the Baptist Faith

Thanks for your reply. From my understanding of scripture, you and I agree. I was trying to address the following statement form post #20: In order for "Baptist Believer" to take his position on men and women being equally qualified to hold the offices of Elder and/or Deacon, he would, it...

The Role of Women in the Baptist Faith

Sorry for the confusion. Hope this helps. My question was/is based on the following from post #20:

The Role of Women in the Baptist Faith

1Ti 3:2 KJV - A bishop (G1985 - masculine noun) then must be blameless, the husband (G435 - masculine noun) of one wife (G1135 - feminine noun), vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 1Ti 3:11 KJV - Even so [must their] wives [be] grave, not slanderers, sober...

The Role of Women in the Baptist Faith

I agree, based on my overall understanding of Biblical teaching, women are not to hold the office of Elder or Deacon. Is this a distinction of Baptist doctrine or are there denominations that take the same position?

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

I find it disturbing that you have encountered Christians who are striving to earn their salvation and "help" Jesus Christ atone for their sins. Do they share with you their testimony of being born-again? If they can't do that, on what basis do you conclude they are Children of God

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

In support of these statements, consider Paul's position: 1Co 15:9 KJV - For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 1Co 15:10 KJV - But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which [was bestowed] upon me was...

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

From my experience, I do not believe it is possible for the Holy Spirit to confront and convict an individual of their sins without the sinner responding with "sincere repentence".

    Elect or Non-elect?

Without the Grace of God applied to me, I defiantly would be held accountable for my sins, not the Devil. Thanks be to God for His love for me.

    Elect or Non-elect?

This passage reminds me that the devil is a powerful spiritual force. The devil had his way with me for a number of years after I accepted Christ as my savior. Shortly after I accepted Christ, I was deployed to Japan and lived a life of debauchery until one morning walking across the parking...

Should the church, the Body of Christ, take care of the sluggard?

Pro 6:6 KJV - Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Pro 6:9 KJV - How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Pro 13:4 KJV - The soul of the sluggard desireth, and [hath] nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat. Pro...

How Much Authority Does A Church Have?

Baptist DistinctivesGARBC Biblical Authority The Bible is the final authority in all matters of belief and practice because the Bible is inspired by God and bears the absolute authority of God Himself. Whatever the Bible affirms, Baptists accept as true. No human opinion or decree of any...

How Much Authority Does A Church Have?

I propose that a distinction be maintained between "a church" and "the Church". Many churches endorse practices not condoned by scripture, such ordination of women and condoning homosexual marriages

    Gosnell the movie opens Friday

Although I am a Baptist and I don't go to movies (last one was in 965), my not going is not because I am Baptist. The reason is because I came under conviction of the Holy Spirit. My goal is to demonstrate the Mind of Christ by living it out. I want my will to be in compliance with His. Psa...

child baptism right or wrong ?

All spiritual deception originates with Satan. The source of misinformation is found in the doctrines of the denominations with which the parents identify. The reason they don't know that baptizing someone won't save them is because they have been taught it either saves the child or enables...

Review of Martin Luther and Free Will

Your statement expresses your opinion. My opinion, in response, is that God does not make trivial choices. He has no step-children.
