    Genesis 6:2

This question has been discussed/debated a length in the past on the BB—but there are actually 3 main views that have various branches of thought. 1. the celestial being view (fallen angels or angels who fall b/c of this act) 2. the Sethite view (godly men who marry ungodly women) 3...

A “right” verses a “privilege”—what is the difference?

I certainly agree with your answer---but are there truly any natural rights that all men are born with—despite which country they live in? (even if the answer is just a personal opinion---I’m curious to see how other Christians evaluate this topic)

A “right” verses a “privilege”—what is the difference?

Hey guys---haven’t been on the BB in a while—but I’m working on a lesson for tomorrow night & I’d like to see what other believing Baptist think about a certain question, & that question is: “What is the difference between a right and a privilege?” I’m not just asking about terminology...

Did Jesus Actually Go To hell, as per The Creeds?

While I agree with a lot of what u just said---I couldn’t disagree with you more on this last statement! You are more than welcome to read my posts on other threads about why I say this--& why jude 6 does in fact refer to Gen 6. However, Chuck Missler has added more to the angelic view than I...

just WHO were sons of god in Genesis who co mingled with Women ?

Very good point—but the real question shouldn’t be what does “son[s] of God” mean every where in Scripture, but what does the Hebrew bene elohim mean—the phase used in Gen 6. And how is this particular phrase used elsewhere in biblical thought (or even in other Jewish writings).

just WHO were sons of god in Genesis who co mingled with Women ?

Allan cont The question often comes up well how is this possible that angels could even have intercourse with human women—well its possible by angels possessing men or by angels taking the form of men in an aneglophany. Further, this is the Bible we’re talking about—events that supersede human...

just WHO were sons of god in Genesis who co mingled with Women ?

I feel ya brother—I bet you do need some sleep—I’ve seen the times of some of your posts--& I’ve often wondered if you were an insomniac & how in the world you can think as clearly as you do considering the little sleep you seems to get. And this is not a 1st rate doctrine so it really means...

just WHO were sons of god in Genesis who co mingled with Women ?

I do agree that your reasoning behind marriage is a valid argument, but nothing stated really furthers your argument that Gen 6 is not about angelic beings. As for female angels in the Bible, 1st angels are neuter but when they appear in visible form it is almost always as males. The only...

just WHO were sons of god in Genesis who co mingled with Women ?

Allan—let me first begin by saying—I’ve really come to respect your posts lately & enjoy the fact your educated, but still have the ability to think outside the 5-point box. Now with the niceties being stated, let me be as blunt as possible about this post------you could not be any further from...

My vote is for angels (whether fallen or when they fell) any takers who disagree-lol---I know-- I know web—but I couldn’t resist! ;)

How were the Old Testament Saints saved?

Rev—who are the “spirits in prison” in 1 pet 3:19 according to your understanding? Are you connecting them to the fallen angels in Jude 6, which are the angels involved in Gen 6—I’ve seen this connection made many times & am just wondering if your endorsing the idea that Christ went and preached...

Another FUN Question, This Time Regarding Angels in general

While I don’t personally believe Matt 18:10 & Heb 1:14 unconditionally supports individual life long guardian angels—they do support the idea than angels at least sometimes guard us. But to be honest, as long as the idea of individual guardian angels is limited to Christians—I can admit the idea...

Another FUN Question, This Time Regarding Angels in general

That certainly is a popular verse for those who support the notion of individual guardian angels. This is usually coupled with the idea of national guardian angels as possibly talked about by Daniel 10; 12---& the fact that guardian angels were a poplar concept among Jewish writers (see: t Shab...

Another FUN Question, This Time Regarding Angels in general

Tom---they run zone--- not man----if u need them---_they will be assigned---but not by person—but by situation! They do what ever God assigns them to—including guarding humans—when the situation requires it.

Were the early Church Fathers pretty Much pre Millianillists?

I thought his heretical practice was self-castration—well if that’s not considered heresy—it should be!!!-lol

Another FUN Question, This Time Regarding Angels in general

Allan—I really have thought about this question a lot---is it b/c God just didn’t feel like doing everything so He created these spiritual servants to carry out task He was just not in the mood to do?---I highly doubt it (lol)---but to me it has to revolve around similar reasons as to why He...

The Law: All or Nothing? Done Away or Still Today?

certainly agree that it cannot be limited to just the 10 commandments. I just happen to be researching Matt 5 for an upcoming lesson & a majority of commentaries (at least that I’m reading) define the law (and the prophets) as a reference to the entire Hebrew Scriptures. Further, many seem to...

The Law: All or Nothing? Done Away or Still Today?

How is ‘nomon’ being defined in this thread---the 613, tha 10 commandments, the entire OT, something else? Does one’s interpretation of this in anyway impact the meaning of the text?

How were the Old Testament Saints saved?

Man—this is a tough topic to be completely dogmatic about—while I personally think the Bible clearly affirms that it was their faith that saved them---where they went after death or what all that their faith entailed can be difficult. Before I went to school, I use to strongly believe in the...
