    "Country Preachers"

Is there anything wrong with the idea of self-taught and self-appointed pastors? Should men who instruct God's people be: a) Theologically trained, including learning the original languages? b) Called by a church to plant a church or fill an opening in a church?

Total Inability in the Gospel of John

I simply pointed out the biblical examples of when the word does not mean, without exception. You ignored the evidence I provided, and common usage, as well. All does not mean, without exception, most of the time it is used. World does not mean, every person without exception, most of the time...

He was/is one of the three most influential men in my life. I wish that everyone on BB would read that article.

Total Inability in the Gospel of John

A friend told me a funny story about just that. He said that RC had a technique of pulling you past him as he shook hands with you, in order to keep the line moving.

Why James White Is Sick of The Calvinist Club

Why James White Is Sick of The Calvinist Club

A perfect being would understand that sin is insanity. There would be no desire to usurp one's perfect God, in a perfectly created being.

Why James White Is Sick of The Calvinist Club

Are you saying that Calvinists secretly believe that God Himself is the author of evil, but we hide that fact in our carefully-worded posts?

Total Inability in the Gospel of John

Me too! It's been my New Years resolution for a few years to read Calvin's Institutes, but my attention span is that of a Mayfly, it seems.

Total Inability in the Gospel of John

Never said that. You might be. I don't know you well enough to make that judgement. My guess is that you are pretty clever. My point: In the past 15 years, I've come across 2 non-Calvinists who've understood Calvinism.

Why James White Is Sick of The Calvinist Club

He was obviously created with the capacity, and what are to do with that desire of his? How do we explain a perfect being having an evil desire? One way is: Adam was "good", not perfect. I'm not not arguing that, but it's a possibility.

Why James White Is Sick of The Calvinist Club

Of course He did. No. No. Limited "freedom". Given the choice, no sinful man would take it because no man is free in the way in which you believe he is.

Sorry. I must have done edits to that post and didn't realize my error. I meant to say that God certainly knew what would happen.
