    Expanding government to enforce morality

Right. But what morals do we want to force on people and what morals do we want them to be free to choose to practice or not? For example, do we want the federal government to tell every American citizen they must not fail to attend a Baptist church on Sunday when physically able under...

    Non-Cals prayer for Non-Believers

So then God tries as hard as he can to save those who are not being prayed for and then he tries as hard as he can to save those who are being prayed for because they are being prayed for? So... what difference does the praying make? The one not prayed for gets every bit of God's effort to...

    Expanding government to enforce morality

The theological issue here is whether or not God would have his people utilizing government power to enforce morality. Most Baptists, I figure, think that we should use the power of the federal government to enforce morality. Pass laws against the use of alcohol. Pass laws against the use of...

    Non-Cals prayer for Non-Believers

What then did God provide for every man when he paid the price for every sin every man ever committed? What is it that God makes available that man can choose to accept or reject? Is it not salvation? Does the cross not make salvation available to every man? Why? Is God trying...

    Non-Cals prayer for Non-Believers

It seems to me that no matter how you slice it, you still have God not doing everything he can to save everybody. If he can do more in answer to your prayer for someone's conviction or salvation than he would have done without it- then he is simply not trying to save everybody with equal...

    Non-Cals prayer for Non-Believers

So then, if God can do more upon request, God is not already doing everything he can to save everybody. Is that not preferential treatment? Does that not have God loving some more than others?

Atheists and Liberals better than evangelicals

I don't think anybody could compete with you and old regular in making devilish disparaging remarks. You both, with each post, prove that you have hate in your heart. Bitterness against me erupts from your posts like poisonous gas exploding from a volcano.

Old folks who think they love old things

You've shown nothing. You've provided no data that tells us how many fundamentalists get this diploma that government statistics bureaus know nothing about.

    What if older Christians

I am familiar with ageism. But, if I acknowledge repeatedly that I am not talking about ALL folks in a particular age bracket and I say repeatedly that there are many fine folks in that age bracket- how is it ageism? Ageism means stereotyping according to age, if I remember correctly. If...

    What if older Christians

I'm not sure if I am one of the people to whom you are responding with this post, but, if you are, please note that I acknowledged that the new church plants doing well in this country are the ones who make it out of those first few most perilous years. Most church plants do close up shop...

    What if older Christians

I agree. .. except for the sensationalist thing. What is sensational about what I said?

    What if older Christians

The idea that there are not generational ideology and behavioral gaps is absurd. People in their 60's and 70's tend to think and behave very differently from folks in their 20's and 30's. They have different life philosophies and worldviews. Those things permeate the way they "do church."

Or it is based on facts.

    What if older Christians

Yes, I have seen this very thing in many churches myself (churches I have personally pastored, and my friends have pastored or attended and heard about from many others). There is an arrogance in some old people that drives them to resist young people who they tend to think are beneath them...

Old folks who think they love old things

What is clear is that you are going to reject any data that doesn't support what you want to believe. None are so blind as those who refuse to see. Fundamentalists are among the least educated people in America. The reputable data I provided irrevocably shows that to be the case.

Old folks who think they love old things

The subject being discussed when you entered the fray was "pretrib rapture." That was what was what the OP talked about in part. Then you came on here and said I need to study and learn about Chiliasm..

Atheists and Liberals better than evangelicals

You are a very bitter man. And it comes out very clearly in your posts to me. I have been told that I have the ability to expose a man's true nature-to bring the poison to the surface as it were. I think I have done so with you.

Atheists and Liberals better than evangelicals

No thinking person takes you seriously when you spew this kind of hatred. Plain N Simple was very gracious and you attack him for it. My posts, though often expressing intense frustration, at least make arguments and present cases for what I believe. Your posts are nothing but bitter attacks...

What about your bitter, superior, judgmentalism?
