2011 NIV Translation of Mark 1:41

I like what Dr. Robinson said about this issue Cf. post here: http://evangelicaltextualcriticism.blogspot.com/2012/02/mark-141-and-ehrman.html

2011 NIV Translation of Mark 1:41

This is what I wrote on the New FFF. Enjoy! For what it's worth, I think this is one of the verses Ehrman has a heyday w/. Since my view is that internal evidence is all but irrelevant, the Mss support trumps the "angered" reading hands down. It seems to be pretty much localized to the...

    Misrepresenting my savior!

Can I not just as easily turn around and say, "I'm upset that you get upset of the claim that Jesus was/is a calvinist. That crosses the line!" Where does such an argument (if that is what this is) get us?

Would BOTH cals/Arms See 2 Cor 5:19 In Same Light?

I would argue similar yet distinct about the meaning of "world" in Paul and John. Both were well acquainted the OT and its missional concept of God blessing the "nations" (cf. Gal. 3:8 & Gen. 12:3). Therefore, "world" is likely simply and extension of the OT meaning of God's mission for the...

    Misrepresenting my savior!

Wow... this is really what upsets you??? Isn't calling Jesus a calvinist simply an appeal to authority? And isn't your biggest problem w/ the label is that you abhor calvinism? If it turns out to be true, you will have been proven incorrect no matter how passionately or vehemently you...

    SWBTS M.Div, D.Min

I think my biggest disagreement is that the faculty of SEBTS is up to snuff with SBTS. What is nice is that those 2 schools share a lot of teachers. I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Pennington when he came to SEBTS. As for facilities, I'll admit that besides Patterson Hall, most of the buildings...

    SWBTS M.Div, D.Min

Good grammar and spelling for one. ;) Couldn't resist. SEBTS was by far the most liberal of the SBC sems. But it was turned around, and they have done nothing except improve. You could give credit to the various presidents, but honestly they would point to God. So will I. I honestly...

    SWBTS M.Div, D.Min

I take issue w/ saying that SEBTS is holding down the middle ground. Their faculty has (arguably) the highest standards of scholars in the SBC. The top 3 that come to mind are Kohstenberger, Black, and Cole (just to name 3). Losing Sailhammer was a blow, but they have some top notch guys...

A great book to read on Bible Prophecy

That's quite a bold claim since there are still non-dispo's just as adamant and publishing books that refute dispensationalism. Though it was not even intended to do so, Beale's NT biblical theology book destroys dispensationalism. But I wouldn't say it silences anyone.

    Th.M.

So much for your statement in the other thread you started, "from the less experienced to the more so." ;) While you are certainly correct that the ThM is more academic, it can also be practical as well. And I would not limit the ThM to systematic or historical theology. My ThM is in neither...

    Sats

No worries, my brother. I just wanted to "c" some things about the school. But I am somewhat acquainted with it having been in contact w/ Kevin Smith. I appreciate SATS accessibility and lack of snobbery (using the term losely so not every get offended w/ what I'm about to say) for requiring...

    Sats

You seem a bit cantankerous about this. I was just clarifying what you didn't seem to know concerning what was advertised on their website. I never contradicted nor contested your comments. I was just looking for clarity amongst some confusion that I was experiencing in my crown.

    Sats

Here is from the website here (http://www.satsonline.org/content/postgraduate-school) So it seems that there is a physical library. The website (http://www.satsonline.org/node/617#31) says that it contains 15,000 volumes (fairly small actually).

    Sats

The sats website said something about spending 1-2 months in Johannesburg for research at their library. But I couldn't find anything specifically about sats' library. Can you talk about that a bit?

I believe in the 5 solas too.

was the NKJV based ONLY On The TR then For NT Greek text used?

Their text was based from the TR although the cited various readings from the CT and MT when there is divergence and possible significance.

John Witherspoon College-A Brand New Experience

Which makes me wonder... is this a "brand new experience" or a "brand new experiment"??? This was making me wonder other things as well, for instance are there (many, any?) reformed Bible colleges? Will this school represent that tradition?

"Draw" in Jn 6:44--What does it mean in your opinion???

Did you have a particular verse in mind where that word "draw" is used for all people and then some are chosen? Or are you referring to John 12:32?

When is the definite article important?

Wuest represents an older tradition of Greek grammar that has not been preserved in the modern era of grammar. This is why I pointed you to Wallace and not someone older. But my point stands, calling the Greek article "definite" implies that its only function is to make something definite...
