Tell us about your cell phone!!

Smartphone here on pay as you go; I spend around £10 a month on it for which I get 300 free texts plus unlimited broadband for that month but my account only gets charged for the calls I make or if I exceed that free limit, hence my account is several £10s in credit ATM! So I hardly ever make...

Could lead codices prove ‘the major discovery of Christian history’?

I'd have to see the evidence (plus peer-reviewed commentary ;-) ) before I comment, but I unfortunately exepect to see more of the 'Historical Jesus -v- Jesus of the Gospels' rubbish from the usual liberal suspects.

UN/US says they want to protect civilians in Lebanon

No worries! I agree with the comment about Darfur...one might add in Zimbabwe. Oh wait, they haven't got innocent barrels of oil that need protecting....

    US National Day of Prayer

I was emailed this by my father-in-law yesterday: " In 1952 President Truman established one day a year as a "National > Day of Prayer." > > In1988 President Reagan designated the First Thursday in May of each > year as the National Day of Prayer. > In June 2007 (then) Presidential Candidate...

Obama the invisible...Anti-leadership amid world crises

I agree. Our David Cameron and that ridiculous Frech midget Sarkozy have done all the running over Libya; Cameron in particular whilst flogging them arms to suppress their own people (shurely shome mishtake?) has also been working the other Arab countries over to support a no-fly zone.

Obama and Libya: the silence is deafening

I agree with Bro Curtis. But at least we now have a UN Resolution which goes beyond even a no-fly zone.

Obama and Libya: the silence is deafening

If the country is stable, oil will be cheaper whether it's the Libyan Opposition running it of Gaddafi; therefore surely better all round to have the former. And I agree - we ain't seen nothing yet at the pumps if the Saudis get 'uppity'.

Obama and Libya: the silence is deafening

The Obama Administration seems to at best lukewarm in its support for a no-fly zone in Libya and at worst anti; meanwhile the Mad Dog is free to whip the butts of the rebels all the way back to Benghazi and Tobruk whilst the rest of us sit idly by and let it happen. This is probably the best...

    For The Brits Here:

Catholics and Anglicans share roughly the same in terms of memebrship, each weighing in at around 1.1M. They are the two largest denominations in the UK, with more Catholics in the Celtic areas and more Anglicans in England.

    Worst Hymn Texts

Not nearly as bad as "Jesus take me as I am, I can come no other way"and "Lord you put a tongue into my mouth"!

    For The Brits Here:

Well, apparently Constantine's mother, Flavia Julia Helena Augusta, though born in Bithynia in 248, was the daughter of Coel Hen ('Old King Cole') of the British (ie: at the time, Welsh) but there's no way of verifying it (that hasn't stopped me putting it in my family tree!).

    For The Brits Here:

If you count 'evangelical' as being the measure of 'Christian', then the UK has about 7% who self-identify as evangelical, but the evangelicals are most heavily concentrated in the 'Celtic fringe' ie: Wales, Scotland, and 'Norn Iron', with England being the most secularised. Interestingly...
