    Not going to Church???

When you get your house paid off, or sold, move to Florida. Or to Oregon, close to your son and family. Family is very important. Don't even debate it -- get out of NJ!

    Not going to Church???

There are very few PB churches around here. The closest one, about 30 miles, closed a few years ago. It was bought and turned into a 'cowboy church'.

    Not going to Church???

I didn't know there were six, thought there were only 5, as represented by the T-U-L-I-P acronym.

    Not going to Church???

Since I do not hold to any of the 5 points of Calvinism, I could not attend any Particular Baptist church or similar church.

    Not going to Church???

Thanks for your explanation. I wish you had a PB church you could physically attend, but I'm glad you can attend weekly meetings online. I've been in situations where there was no local church that I could attend.

    Tripartite Sheol?

About Luke 23:43 -- It does not make sense to maintain that Jesus said, "Verily I say unto thee today," with the comma after 'today', because that would not be logical or necessary since it's obvious that He is speaking that day. So, the comma has to come after 'thee' to make sense.

I'd be interested in reading your review of that.

    Not going to Church???

I know Primitive Baptists never killed anybody.

    Not going to Church???

If I could be a Calvinist, I'd choose the Primitive Baptists. I've had a couple of friends who were Primitive Baptists. Primitive Baptists have been kind to me, unlike some other Cavinists I've known.

    Putting the Spin on Spinoza

I don't think anyone should ever be afraid to ask questions or seek answers, or explore all kinds of beliefs. How else can one know that what they believe is actually that, or if it is an 'inherited' belief? Heck, I have found that even the beliefs I sharply disagree with have helped me to more...

Who are some of our members who have been here the longest?

    Putting the Spin on Spinoza

Look, I have no desire to have a war with you. You can think what you choose about me. I just was saying, and hoping, that we all could be less critical and more empathetic to people in their trials and tribulations -- which we all have.

    Putting the Spin on Spinoza

No, but everybody is at a different place in their lives. We all need to remember that.

    Putting the Spin on Spinoza

I make a plea for all of us to be kind to each other. We don't know what someone is going through, so we need to be loving.

Do you believe the once saved can again be lost?

We are obviously not going to solve this question here; it has been debated for centuries. However, it is interesting to discuss, and fruitful to do so, in my opinion. I don't have all the answers. But I do have some beliefs. I believe it is possible to be saved and then willfully forfeit that...

    Putting the Spin on Spinoza

I believe God is in nature, ansd nature reflects God. But I also believe God is above or beyond nature. So, I believe in God's immanence in the creation but also His transcendence. I don't think God and nature are one and the same.

    The Quaker revival

Ascetic X, and EW&F: Thank you so much for your heartfelt posts, and for telling about your experiences. I can relate. I don't have answers, but I'll keep seeking, and trying to maintain faith in God.
