Daniel 12:2
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

This reference will not be good enough for anyone.
But if you are judged in shame and contempt, why is the explanation for everlasting necessary?
Temporarily destroyed is not destroyed. Why the need to explain everlasting?

Daniel 12:2
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Everyone that "sleeps" (is dead) will awake to final judgement.
John reinforces this:
John 5:29
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Really simple. Everyone in Scripture is resurrected, some to a resurrection of "life" some to a resurrection of "damnation".
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

But if you are judged in shame and contempt, why is the explanation for everlasting necessary?
Because it lasts forever.
Do you have "contempt" for Hitler? Is he a "shameful" person?
Isn't Hitler dead?
He suffers everlasting shame and contempt and irreversible death.
What more do you want?
Temporarily destroyed is not destroyed.
No, that's nonsense.
Why the need to explain everlasting?
There's no need to "explain" everlasting.
"Everlasting" means what it says.
Hell is "everlasting".
So is the punishment.
The fire and brimstone are everlasting. The punishment is everlasting.

The wicked are not everlasting, however, and no passage of Scripture implies it.
ECT inexplicably believes that the wicked ARE "everlasting".
There's not a single piece of evidence in Scripture to support it.

None of this is complicated.

The fires of hell are eternal.

What you believe is that the wicked are "eternal".

Please quote one verse.....
Just one single verse in Scripture...
which says that the wicked will live forever, or that they will inherit eternal life.

Either you can post it, or you are basically a troll.
Aska nd ye shall receive
and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

I'm on board with Satan being tormented forever, if that's what God chooses.
The beast and the false prophet are images, not people, and those images can endure suffering as well if that's the ecstatic image John is seeing.
Why are death and hades also thrown into the lake of fire?

Rev. 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Is God torturing hell now?
Is God torturing death?
Where is the passage which says the unsaved inherit eternal life?

People might consider the scriptural and historical materials, as well as definitional meanings, and their uses; a book to read, Sincerely Dead - Dying, To Know Jesus; as it discusses the texts on the matter of life, death, and reward and punishment - Sincerely Dead Dying, To Know Jesus by brother Aaron Earnest : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

That text, and its context, and its words in their definitional meanings, as given by scripture, &c. are answered in this, here, simply see the chapter on that text - Annihilation

("Everlasting burnings" are something that you cannot "dwell" in).....because of course you can't. Why in the world would God use such a counter-intuitive idea as a fire that people simply live forever in. The idea is stupid on its face.

The reason people ignore this is because they are essentially pre-committed to the concept of the eternality of the soul (a pagan concept) that humans simply cannot die:
God kicking Adam out of the garden of eden is proof that they absolutely MUST die because they are sinners:

Gen 3:22
And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Gen 3:24
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Translation: Man is evil now and it will suck on an incomprehensible level if he lives forever....let's kick him out of the garden so he doesn't have access to the tree of Life
Hi Some Rando
Greetings in Christ JESUS

Regarding "("Everlasting burnings" are something that you cannot "dwell" in)" or Eternal Fire, here's my interpretation according to the Word of GOD. By the way, the Word is GOD, GOD Himself, GOD Father, Father of our Lord JESUS Christ, The Word made flesh in One, and our Father.

Hebrews 12:29 - For our GOD is a consuming fire.

Isaiah 33:14:->. . . Who among us shall dwell with (GOD) the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with (GOD) everlasting burnings?

HERE's THE ANSWER:
Isaiah 33:15-19
15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood(violence), and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

17 Thine eyes shall see the King(JESUS) in His beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off. (the Kingdom of GOD, 3rd heavenly place-2Corinthians 12:2-4 combined with Luke 20:35-36 and Revelation 11:15)

18 Thine heart shall meditate terror (as commented below). Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?

19 Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand->(James 3:5-8, take a look).

That said, we see the righteous survive and can alive in the fire, I mean, within the devouring fire, in the consuming fire-that is GOD.-> Take a look in Exodus 3:2-6.

Now, meditate on this: While the righteous survive and alive with GOD even being a devouring / consuming fire
(Isaiah 43:2), in the same place and time what will happen with the unrighteous? Isaiah prophesied,saying:->the BREATH of the Lord(when His wrath is kindled) like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.-> (Isaiah 30:33, TAKE A LOOK, combined with Revelation 21:8:-> 8 But the fearful(the cowards), and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars(sons of the Devil), shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. ->1Corinthians 3:13-15:-> 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day(the Lord's Day, seventh and last Day-2Peter 3:10-13, take a look) shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire(GOD is a devouring fire); and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Malachi 3:17-18-> 18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth GOD and him that serveth Him not. 17 And they (the righteous) shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day(the Lord's Day, the current seventh and last Day) when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. And Malachi 4:1-3 reveal us that:-> 1 - The day cometh(detail: the Lord's Day, this Day has arrived) , that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the Day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ASHES under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.

Until this current time, the WRATH of GOD was not being applied , His message was of peace and salvation exclusively, through JESUS,
but FROM NOW ON the WRATH of GOD will be manifested in flame FIRE in WHOLE WORLD to destroy them which destroy the earth -> (Revelation 11:18), and the NATIONS will be angry.-> This WAR will be something like WRATH X WRATH(Revelation 11:18) -> and Revelation 6:15-18:-> 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the Great Day of His WRATH is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Be prepared or else get ready,
we must do what our GOD recommends to do, saying by Isaiah 26:20-21:-> 20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment(last seven years), until the indignation be overpast. ->(Romans 2:4-16, take a look).

21 For, behold, the Lord cometh out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. ->(2Thessalonians 1:7 to 10 combined with 1Thessalonians 4:15-17, very important)

Be prepared or else get ready -> (Matthew 25:6-10 combined with Revelation 16:13-15, mainly verse 15)

GOD BLESS

Psalm 2 -
King James Version

1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this Day have I begotten thee.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.
