What a foolish unlearned statement, it does mean those for whom its for are forgiven. Heb 8:12

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

The word merciful here is the greek word hileōs:

1. propitious, merciful

Based on that, He doesnt remember their sins and iniquities anymore, that means they are forgiven !

Heb 8:10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

I agree that the characteristic of the new covenant is the full pardon of sin. But as you can see the new covenant is between God and believers.

Try reading Hebrews 8:8-12

Those verses in Jeremiah are the very first ones the Holy Spirit led me to after I was saved, I still cry over them; that He's even given someone like me a consideration is beyond amazing.

God is saying

Let's try and avoid giving our words equal weight with God's inerrent words. I paraphrase constantly but I try and avoid a God said, since He indeed did not say.
