Ok...let's see...Sunday Mass...there's the first reading from the OT, the Psalm response, the second reading, usually from the Epistles then there's the gospel...then the priest talks for 5-10 minutes about something...then there's the declaration of faith, Holy, Holy, part 1 of the Eucharistic prayer (one of 4), the Kyrie, the rest of the Eucharistic prayer, Angus Dei, Pater Noster, kiss of peace, receive communion, sit and "pray", another quickie prayer and dismissal. So...where is that in the bible? Where is the order of the Mass in the bible? Where is the idea that Jesus is "truly present" in a little piece of bread? (yeah, yeah, John 6 but it doesn't make any sense when taken in context), Where is the idea of confessing to a priest? Doesn't the bible say to confess to ONE ANOTHER not just some guy who knows jack about jack when it comes to the real world?

Yeah...no. I was taught by nuns and priests...and once I opened my eyes and read THE BIBLE instead of all the stupid catechism books, I realized I had been duped.

Now...you are not doing a great job of representing the RCC to me or anyone else here since you seem to feel the need to be abrasive, condescending and very ignorant about the other side of the discussion. Have a great day...I am done with you and will pray that the Lord opens your eyes to the false religion you have been sucked into.

Its right there on the same page it says the BIBLE is the FINAL AND ONLY RULE OF AUTHORITY.

You can prob show us where in the bible it says to use rings and how a marriage is done.

You can show us what page gives the list of what books belong in the bible.

What sort of an idiot says ok well this faith is trash, what they teach is trash, all these weird rituals they do is trash, BUT HOLD ON.......This book they parade into the mass, which these crazy folks picked out for me, This book is totally right!

Instead of being lazy give us the logic you arrive to 66 books in the bible. You depend on someone else to pick those books FOR YOU.

Lets say your atheist, Ok whats this christian thing going on. How you go about starting. The minute you have to ask anyone or anyone puts a book in your hand, THATS the boss, thats the authority.

You know get your own book. There is a reason the Cat in the Hat is not part of the bible. Do you know why?

Did it fall out the sky, even if it did then the sky is the authority.

John 6 why did the disciples leave? You go a chapter before he made HIGHER claims then any "symbolic" claim that could have been made.

John 5
23so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father.

He's called himself symbolically vine with branches. Says he's God. Tells folks he will bring them back to life.

He said he is symbolically a door!

BUT HOLD ON! He said he is "symbolically" bread. Oh the shock! Thats the straw that broke the camel's back!

YEAH RIGHT!

After they stuck with him while he does miracles, claims of divinity, ect, ect.

Oh I'm LIKE BREAD, was the final straw!

BRILLIANT!

The RCC worships Jesus as God. If the Mass is not entirely false as there are scriptural parts of the Mass then the RCC does not worship in vain.
The RCC has a another Gospel, and has false doctrines, so indeed the Mass is worshipping God in vain!

Any historical evidence of ANYONE doing it your way or believing the way you do in those early centuries of the Church? Any at all??
The church of rome denies the historical truths held by Jesus/Apostles, and in the early church!

The Holy Spirit obviously does not believe that the entire Mass is unscriptural or He would not have guided Luther to retain the Mass(minus the unscriptural parts) in the Lutheran Church. The scriptural parts of the Catholic Mass is worshiping Jesus as God and in truth. I attend the local Catholic parish on Saturday afternoons and the local Baptist Church on Sunday mornings. So I am both Catholic and Baptist. I am Baptist as the result of having been Baptized via immersion(as a public profession of faith that I gave my life to Christ) on 21 May after worship at that Baptist Church.

Neither the Lutheran Communion or the RXX Mass are scriptural though!

Oh yes the Lutheran Holy Communion is scriptural or else the Holy Spirit would not have guided Luther how to formulate the Lutheran doctrine of Holy Communion. And the RCC Mass is partially scriptural as there are some scriptural parts of the Mass. If there were no scriptural parts of the Mass than the Holy Spirit would not have guided Luther to retain the Mass(minus the unscriptural parts) in the Lutheran Church.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
[16]All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
[17]God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Funny how we don't see anything about the church at Rome in that verse. Perhaps Peter didn't get Paul the memo.

God does tell us what constitutes marriage. "The two become one flesh." No rings necessary. No priest necessary. No witnesses necessary. No license necessary. This is why sex is such a sacred and solemn act of worship to God. God see's oneness in this holy act. Yet, the world treats it as though it is no big deal.

Do you think God's word is not the final and Sovereign authority above that of mere men, utilyan?

Do you think mere men in Rome can make up stories and their word is greater than God's word?

YOU are Guilty of what you accuse us of.

Your MAN MADE TRADITION believes it is greater then God's word.

You inserted a RULE that is not found in scripture.

You say the rule is that the bible is the final and only rule of faith.

So I say SHOW ME THIS FALSE LIE IN THE BIBLE!

You have not, will not, Instead you attack my character.

Show us the bible verse that supports your FALSE LIE.

What rule did I insert? The rule where God is the Sovereign King over His creation? The rule where God's word is greater than man's word? Is that the rule you complain about?

Psalms 119:11,15-16,27,33,43-45,47,50,52-54,56-57,62,67-70,72,89-91,103-105,113-115,118,130,133,140,160,162,165
[11]I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
[15]I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways.
[16]I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word.
[27]Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds.
[33]Teach me your decrees, O lord; I will keep them to the end.
[43]Do not snatch your word of truth from me, for your regulations are my only hope.
[44]I will keep on obeying your instructions forever and ever.
[45]I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.
[47]How I delight in your commands! How I love them!
[50]Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.
[52]I meditate on your age-old regulations; O lord, they comfort me.
[53]I become furious with the wicked, because they reject your instructions.
[54]Your decrees have been the theme of my songs wherever I have lived.
[56]This is how I spend my life: obeying your commandments.
[57]lord, you are mine! I promise to obey your words!
[62]I rise at midnight to thank you for your just regulations.
[67]I used to wander off until you disciplined me; but now I closely follow your word.
[68]You are good and do only good; teach me your decrees.
[69]Arrogant people smear me with lies, but in truth I obey your commandments with all my heart.
[70]Their hearts are dull and stupid, but I delight in your instructions.
[72]Your instructions are more valuable to me than millions in gold and silver.
[89]Your eternal word, O lord, stands firm in heaven.
[90]Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth you created.
[91]Your regulations remain true to this day, for everything serves your plans.
[103]How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.
[104]Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life.
[105]Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
[113]I hate those with divided loyalties, but I love your instructions.
[114]You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope.
[115]Get out of my life, you evil-minded people, for I intend to obey the commands of my God.
[118]But you have rejected all who stray from your decrees. They are only fooling themselves.
[130]The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.
[133]Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.
[140]Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much.
[160]The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever.
[162]I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure.
[165]Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.

Amen! Beautiful bible verses.

None of those says that the bible is the final and only rule of faith.

Still waiting for a verse that states your false teaching.

You are exceeding the scriptures.

I am both Catholic and Baptist. I was Baptized as a baby in the Catholic Church and I attend the local Catholic parish on Saturday Vigil Mass. I also attend the local Baptist Church on Sunday mornings. I am a Baptist because I was Baptized via immersion at that Baptist Church as a public profession of faith that I gave my life to Christ.

John Yurich,

Hello and greetings to you. I just want to chime in here to say that I am glad that you are a lover of God and I don't wish my words to come across the wrong way. But I would like to challenge you a bit here. Having read your comments, it seems to me that your position is quite like saying that you're married and that you have a girlfriend too and that's okay because you have figured out a way by which your particular arrangement works for you.

But remember, reception of Holy Eucharist is something that can be likened to a wedding feast. To participate in such an act is something that is naturally and necessarily exclusive. To then associate, in what I might call a spiritually intimate way with another body of believers just hours later contradicts what you just did at Mass the night before. The practice you've adopted is not an option for a Catholic who is following the Church's teachings. To present your approach to Catholicism here as a viable option for a person who wishes to be faithful to Christ's Church is to misrepresent what the Church teaches concerning the nature of Holy Communion and the relationship Christ has through the Church with those who receive His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in Holy Communion.

What do you think of my perspective? Have you considered this? Again, please take my words in charity and kindness.

In Him,

Herbert
