Buy a new coat? Good luck finding one you like as well as the one you have! My old coat gave up the ghost a couple of years ago and I still haven't found one that suits me. Instead I have a variety of jackts and sweaters and pray that Sundays aren't to cold to go without.

    Good morning everyone!

It is a good morning isn't it. I'm in such a bad mood today that I can't really tell. I'm hoping a shower and a few hours at my sewing machine will cure the problem. I hate being in a bad mood for no good reason! Yesterday it was T in the bad mood so maybe I've caught mine from him.

    Ya'll stay warm!

I take Celebrex, and it doesn't take away all the pain, but I'd be as stiff as the tin man if I didn't. You need lecithin while on Celebrex? Tell me more.

A wedding dress made of various cold cuts. Sounds delicious! You could use the very thin slices of turkey that get all raggedy at the ends for the trim around the sleeves and hems. ;)

Debby, it's just something I take anyhow, it's not exactly needed, but it is good to make sure you have enough as it is a general help to the cardiovascular system. I'd simply say that as long as you're on Celebrex, which is known for causing extreme heart problems if you're on it for a while (which is why I won't stay on it), to take extra good care of your heart.
You get lecithin in your diet, but sometimes just not enough. It depends on how you eat. I've found that simply buying eggs that are enhanced with it is enough, but since I don't like eggs I prefer to take lecithin as a supplement. My diet isn't that big in whole grains right now, (which is one of the only lecithin containing foods I like) but I'm working on it.
You'll know if you're getting too much lecithin, and you don't want too much of ANYTHING, if you get that fishy taste in your mouth. Everyone's had that at some time if they've eaten a bunch of eggs, or had liver, or a lot of something else that contains good amounts of lecithin. Most people don't realize what caused it, they just think to themselves "that's weird, everything kinda has a fishy taste..." and then it goes away and they don't think about it again. That's usually what it was!

Anyhow, check it out. I could always be mistaken on some stuff!
If you are one Celebrex long term, talk to your doctor about the known heart problems associated with it. For me, it was worth the risk to take it short term as it made me feel so much better, but I'd be very uncomfortable with taking it long term. I checked out the risks and told myself I'd do about 3 months, which is about how long it took for it to quit being as effective anyhow. Do take extra measures to keep your heart healthy while you are on it, and there are a number of them. The added benefit is losing a few pounds...I've lost about ten since changing my diet just the little bit that I have. I could lose a good 60, but ten is ok, and I hope to keep losing. :D

That didn't come out right did it?

Actually, I could use Swiss cheese instead of eyelet material for the blouse sleeves, tea bags for a 'T-lined skirt', carrots for a '24 carat necklace', cotton balls for a 'cotton shirt', hot dogs for 'Hush Puppy shoes', and a Slinky for a 'spring jacket', orange juice containers for a 'can-can' under my skirt, pasta for 'spaghetti straps', empty bottles of Tylenol for a 'pillbox hat' and Brent's mittens for 'kid gloves'.

MK: I refuse to buy a new coat! Shawna took our clothes to the cleaners for me this morning, but they won't be done until 4:00 Wednesday!

I guess I'll have to 'layer' clothes to get my hair done tomorrow and the rest of the shopping will have to wait until Thursday. That is cutting it very close because I wanted my whole menu prepared by Friday before the wedding and that is the day I have to set up tables, decorate, etc.

Well, it looks like dh will be doing some running for me because Shawna is leaving for Wisconsin and won't be back until late Thursday night.

I'm sure, one way or another, everything will be ready when I need it.

Did I say I was in a bad mood this morning?????

It only got worse! Tonight was the city's Christmas parade. Bah Humbug! Whoever came up with the idea of having a parade in the cold weather was a nut! And since I don't like cold weather and I was already in a bad mood I DIDN'T WANT TO GO!!!

So I crawled myself into the car anyway with three overexcited kids(it's only a parade people! ) and went anyway. Bitsy and Son had a free for all in the back seat. The parade started late. It's only 32 degrees out there. Some lady pulled her huge van onto the SIDEWALK between my car and the street and blocked my view from the car.

We were to meet my best friend and her son and another friend and her daughters there. They had dropped their kids off on the corner with orders not to move and went to park the car. When we got back to the corner their kids were nowhere to be found. They came back eventually, but thank goodness this is a low crime area.

Then just as the parade got started my best friend stepped off the curb into what appeared to be just grass but was really a ditch in disguise and twisted her ankle. So instead of watching the longest parade the city has had to date, she and I visited the after hours clinic.

Now for the miracles, there were three tonight. The first being that none of our 6 total kids went missing or were run over by floats chasing after the candy being thrown. The second was that best friend who suffer from serious osteoporosis did not break her ankle only sprained it.

This is the big one: I had cooked for some reason before we left. I cooked one box of shells and cheese, one can of blackeye peas, one bag of fried okra, and five hotdogs cut up into two small cans of sour kraut. This is amount my family can eat in one meal. Since the second friend got stuck with my kids and T wasn't home she brought them in a fed everyone(5 kids and herself). Then T came home and ate(he doesn't eat just a little). So when I called home and found out I thought I'd be eating a can of soup for supper. NOT SO! There was more than enough food left for me to eat my fill (which I'm doing as I type) and there will be enough for my lunch tomorrow!

So my bad mood has dissolved into thankfulness, my kids are asleep and......I have control of the remote and am about to turn Sponge Bob off! (it'd be done already but I can't type and work the remote. :D )

Oh, MK, What a day, but you will have great memories! :D It is cold here and getting colder. We may get snow!

A happiness occurred today: We received a letter from our Governor and I quote; "Please detach your tax rebate check and cash or deposit it at your earliest convenience. Thank you for all you do for Oklahoma, and may God bless you and your family." Every taxpayer in Oklahoma received one of these letters along with a check for $45.00 for each taxpayer. Is this a great state, or What!!!! There was a surplus paid and the legislature passed a bill to refund equal shares of the surplus.

I don't think I have checked in here all day. Went with Ed to the Doctor this morning, decorated a little in the house and napped all afternoon.

MK, you and Gina, just have too much drama in your life. [IMG] Never a dull moment.

    Good night all [IMG]

    Good morning all:

It is still very cold here and it is snowing again.

I'm going to brave the cold weather to get my hair cut and mail my last three packages at the Post Office.

Since my regular coat is in the cleaners, I planned on freezing to death - but I had forgotten about a long dress coat. Actually, I hadn't forgotten about it, I just didn't think about it because the last time I tried it on it wouldn't even close!

Well, I tried it on last night and it buttoned! I got on the scales (which I usually avoid) and found that I had lost 14 pounds! PTL!

Now, if I can just find something to wear to the wedding...

    HAGD!

I can't imagine living somewhere that snow is pretty normal. It's a huge deal here if one flake falls.

I bet you'll look beautiful Sue!

    Thankful,
    They DID????
Maybe our check will come today.

Surprised after all I have heard about some income projections being way low.

How is the patient? He mentioned his visit yesterday in the poll forum.

    chipsgirl,
Now that's odd. I would have thought east TN would have a lot of snow. OK is in the SW sunbelt and we are supposed to have 6 inches tonight.

Karen, I think your check is in the mail!

Patient is doing well, but maybe patient isn't the right word. [IMG]

He is getting a new heater and a/c in the Condo today, just in time for the extreme cold.

We asked our son last summer to call and have a new one installed before he really needed it, but he didn't do it until it broke and there was no heat. Not sure why he didn't do it because he knew we would pay for it.

It is 41 degrees now so maybe it isn't going to get as cold as they are predicting. Our weather man came on last night telling us what to do as if we had never experienced cold, ice and snow before. Maybe that was for the young people like our son [IMG]

Nope, we don't really see snow here. It's always too warm. Some parts in the mountain areas get snow but the valley areas rarely do. 6 inches here would shut us down for days since we aren't used to it. We might get a a nice 3-inch snow every 3 or 4 years.

Chipsgirl, don't worry, we don't get much if any here either. We live just between Shelbyville and Murfreesboro. It snowed last year before we moved out here to the house, and it stayed for several days because of the below freezing temperatures, but it is usually gone the day after if not the same day of the snow.

Not much going on here. It's cold and windy. It has only hit 43 here today so far.

I found a new thrift shop I didn't know was there and it's Christian!!!

I believe the Lord led me there because I walked in and 2 minutes later had a black skirt for the wedding, just the material and size I wanted!

I also found a nice pair of black dress slacks and several large, heavy glass plates to use Saturday.

I ended up getting a perm. I kind of look like Little Orphan Annie...

Oh that's great Sue! I love purchasing at shops with Christian owners. I bet that perm is cute too.

It's real windy here too AVL. I don't like it one bit.

We have 14" of new snow since I got up this morning. We get this wonderful thing called lake effect snow being so close to Lakes Erie and Ontario. When the conditions are just right the winds pick up the warmer air off the lake and, in turn, dumps the snow right in my backyard. This particular storm has stalled over us and is expected to dump another foot before it quits. Too bad the snowmobile trails are closed until December 21st!

MK, how could you wake up grumpy. You woke up this morning. Ain't that enough to make you want to [IMG]

I Am Blessed 16 said I could come here and get a cup of coffee.

Hi All, it's a little on the chilly side here around the Texarkana area. Small chance of some winter precip. tomorrow. I may have to have hot chocolate instead of coffee.

    YBIC,

    John

Question, do you all still have normal daily life when there is that much snow or is everything closed?

You most certainly can have that coffee. I prefer the cider myself. :D

Schools may close if the roads get bad, but everything else pretty much goes on. If nothing else, it brings all the bad drivers out.
We had a huge ice storm on Christmas Day 2000 that shut everything down.

Hi 4Given and welcome to the Coffee House!

Grab a cup of coffee and a donut and come back soon.

I just finished filing my nails and putting a clear base-coat of polish on them. I don't often do that 'cause I just don't take the time.

I may even paint them a pretty color for the wedding. Whoa! :D
