Thingie???Yur soundin more & more like my wife!! Speakin of...she actually had the nerve to tell me she'll be glad when I go to work. Now what in the world could she have meant by that. I mean I don't play with BH all day!!

Of course you don't. You also play on the internet! :tongue3:

I really don't know what to call it but a thingie. It's not a real rock garden. It's not a flower garden. It's just...different rocks contained in a plasticky outline. And then it'll have a few tiny plants in it. Still in their pots, but you wouldn't be able to tell because the pots will be covered with rocks.

Maybe it is a rock garden. I don't know what one is, so it could be.
It does have rocks and it will have plants.

Good morning all,

It will be 95º again today and the humidity is already 100%. Another nice day to stay indoors where it's cool and dry...

Gina: I have a 'thingy' in my back yard too! I planted phlox all over it except for a round spot in the middle that has a concrete border filled with rocks and a pole with birdfeeders hanging on it. I have a few small figurines setting on the rocks. I call it a rock garden because I don't know what else to call it.

Gasoline went up to over $4.00 a gallon here, so that is keeping me at home as much as the heat and humidity! My daily walking has come to a halt because I just can't breathe outside.

Coffee is on and tea is brewing. Fresh donuts are on the counter.

Morning Guys!

Glad to be back with the coffee group :D We had some wicked storms last night. Boomed and poured then Boomed some more. Looking forward to getting something done today.

Joe interviewed with a company in Madison Wisconsin yesterday. He was very excited about how it went.

Off to get a cup . . . A big one today

Good Morning Everyone!

Wish we'd had some rain here. I'm gonna have to water the grass again. It's just plain hot today. Already up to 95 degrees. I did not get that other door sanded this morning because I ended up being the one to take Chris to his sword fighting class.

Chris got sick about half way though the class and had to come home. I don't know what is going on with these kids. Cass has been sick for over a week now. Just complains that she feels bad and her stomach hurts. Chris told me his stomach hurt before class, but neither he or I thought anything of it until he turned dead white and started shaking. He's got some color back now but no strength. I'm wondering if he is about to get slammed by a migraine. He loses all his color quite often just before and during an attack. Guess I'll make two appointments with the doctor next week.

I'm off to see what else is happening on the BB, I see ya'll later.

Whooosh, It IS hot out there. There I was, working on a table for Agee, mindin my own business when she brings me the phone. It was Vickie, the one who I'll be working for on the route. She needed me to run it cause the other persons car had quit on them. I went & picked up the papers from the person & went on my merry way. She had done most of the racks, which left me with bout all the home deliveries. No big deal...till I got close to the finish & ran out of papers. I guess Vickie will be getting a few phone calls monday morning. They don't have a Sun. paper...one reason I took the route.
Took me about 5&1/2 hours to finish , & my head is a bustin. But...not to worry, I got a BC round here somewhere!! That & a shower & I'll be a new man!!! Looks like Agee's gonna get her wish after all.

Another gloriously hot day here in Ontario. I shall call to mind the winter months everytime I attempt to complain about the heat.

Preacher, what happens when you run short on newspapers? Do the people just go without? Is there no way to procure additional papers? That is a full time in delivery...5.5 hours!

Hope everyone else is well.

Cheers,

Jim

Gloriously hot? If sweat is glorious, then it was like that here too!

I made a big mistake...got all excited and decided to paint some stones and my hands are already getting incredibly stiff. I'll have to try muscle relaxers or something. (it's not a joint thing, it's a muscle thing!) I counted on it happening, but had forgotten how bad it gets. UGH

But...my little project is working out. It's a little garden like area but filled with rocks. For now I put very prickly catuses in there as training tools. They're meant to teach the kids to STAY AWAY FROM MY ROCKS! They'll come out before the temps get low, and next spring I'll put something in that matches the backyard more. (it has roses and stuff...cactuses don't exactly blend)

Anyhow, it'll be cute next year when it's how it's meant to be. I got one more thing to go out and do, then I get to scrub my kitchen, figure out what to do about my hands before they quit moving, and get some sleep.
LOL Maybe I'll just keep typing. I picked them up off the keyboard and they stayed in typing position. hrm Maybe I should consider taking up a typing job?

jch, When I was out today, think the temp was like 90 or 91, but with the humidity it was proably closer to 100. That's why I wound up with a headache.
Jim, I haven't learned all the ropes yet...but If they had been anyone at the office I'm sure I would have gone & gotten more papers. I got stuck with it cause of the broke-down vehicle & apparently she didn't pick up enough papers to begin with, or put too many in some of the racks fore' I took over. Unfortunatly the folks will just have to do without this time I guess. I didn't run the whole route, but did about 80% I guess. Once I start it on my own & learn it so I don't have to listen to the tape with route directions on it I can proably be done in 4 or so hours. Just depends.
I figured vickie would have called to see how things went, but I guess they'll find out mon. morning. I hate to see anyone get in trouble but at least it wasn't my fault!! Sweet feller....ain't I!!

preacher: Our local courier employs someone to man the phones from 5-7 P.M. If someone doesn't have their paper delivered by 5:00, they call the courier and the 'phone person' delivers it after 7:00. Each call they get counts against that particular delivery person.

Good morning all!

Another 100º day here with 100% humidity. I'm not complaining though. I'd rather have this than SNOW!!! I must be getting old because the heat and cold didn't use to bother me.

I can remember when we didn't have the advantage of going from a A/C house to an A/C car to an A/C church.

We just put up with the heat and the church had those cardboard 'handfans' in the pew backs with the hymn books.

In the house, some of us were lucky enough to have electric fans to blow the hot air around. And in the car, the windows were kept rolled down and the only A/C we had was 60mph wind as we drove.

Of course, that's when all the cars had 'wing' windows and we could direct the air right to us. I sure wish they still had them. They were good for a variety of things...

Coffee is on and tea is brewing. Krispy Creme donuts on the counter. Help yourself and don't leave a mess.

How did this happen???Last nite when I posted my last message I was on page 19 uner gina, now I'm first on 20!

Sue, I can remember those days too. My first car was a 69 nova that had the vent windows. No A/C but of course I would have took it out anyway....HotRod!!
Growin up with my grandparents I can't remember even a fan, course we didn't have runnin water till I was 9 or 10. When momma got me at age 11 thats when I started learning bout the "niceities" of life. A/C, Color TV, Indoor plumbing..all that stuff!!

Good Morning Everyone!

Gina, you and me must be sisters in another life. My hands are NOT happy with me doing all this stripping, sanding and painting. They hurt all night and it took me thirty minutes to get them to move this morning. LOL, everytime T or Bitsy tried to hold my hand during the night I woke everyone up telling them not to touch me! I think I'll lay off and not do the sanding I had planned for today.

Hot! Oh my is it hot here. One of those times they woke me up I somehow remembered I had left the sprinkler on. I walked out to turn it off and it was still as hot as it had been before I went to bed. The garden I was watering wasn't even soggy though I'd turned the sprinkler on about 6 hours earlier.

In spite of all this hot, dry weather, my hedges are growing like crazy! I am not watering them, cause I'd just as soon they die, but NO, dumb things have grown to almost back to where they were when I trimmed them back way into the brown this spring. Stupid bushes!

Since my hand aren't happy, I'm going to spend the day cleaning and taking care of sick whiney kids. Chris got slammed with a migraine, like I thought would happen, yesterday after his sick spell. This is the third time in a row that he has spent the night at his best friends house and ended up with a migraine within a hour of coming home. I can't figure out what is there that is triggering it. At first I thought it was to many hours together because the usual spiel is they spend one night at my house and the next over there. This time I said no, so they only spent the night there. Whatever it is, it's a major trigger cause this is one of the worst migraines he has had in a while.

Cass isn't much better off than Chris. Whatever is making her feel so bad this week has given her a migraine. Her's isn't as bad as Chris' so far. She can still do a bit.

Anyway, this is my whine of the day. If the kids get to whine, I get too, right? :D

Afternoon friends!

Poor MK. I do believe a day of rest is in order! Our hedges have had quite a growth spurt too, but we have had rain.

Hot, Hot, Hot! Preacher -- did you get those storms I kept getting notices about last night? Everything stayed south of us.

Hi Guys,
Thought I'd better check in.
It's been a busy 24 hours. Yesterday started at 3am, and didn't end until past midnight. When I finally got to bed I couldn't "turn everything off" so I was up again by 2am.
I got home from church about 12:30 today, and still have some things from yesterday to tend to.
Please pray for a personal situation that I've become involved in. It's like a never-ending nightmare. God must have put me into it for a reason, when I get to heaven I'll have to ask Him why.
For everybody else - enjoy the Lord's day.

Rob

Praying, Rob.

Sheila: you forecast looks good compared to ours! It is 97ºF outside with a heat index of 110º and 100% humidity and will stay that way for all next week.

The air is so thick, you could cut it with a knife. The local TV station is telling everyone with a breathing problem to stay indoors and other than going to church, that is what I plan to do!

I sent Brent out and had him start the car and let it run about 5 minutes to cool down after church. By the time I got to it - it was STILL hot!

I'm home now in the cool A/C and this is where I'm staying (unless I venture out for church tonight) haven't decided on that one yet.

Time for lunch,

Sue, oh dear....and I thought it was bad enough here. Do take care. I tend to do chores late in the evening when it is cooler. Maybe I should just reverse my day and become an owl.
