1689Dave said:
If you are starving and dehydrated, and someone throws a meal ticket at your feet, you are he one who saves your life by picking it up and using it.
But the final savior is the one who chooses to eat.
Here's a good example of what 1689Dave is talking about. In this instance, according to 1689Dave, the paralytic is the saivor because he did a work, took action, and chose to stretch out his hand.
Mark 3:1 And He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand.
2 So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.
3 And He said to the man who had the withered hand, “Step forward.”
4 Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent.
5 And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.”
And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.
And here is another person, according to 1689Dave that did a work, and was her own savior.
Mark 5:25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years,
26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.
27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd
and touched His garment.
28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.
And a whole lot more...
Mark 6:56 Wherever He entered, into villages, cities, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged Him that they might just touch the hem of His garment.
And as many as touched Him were made well.
How dare these people reach out an receive grace from Jesus?! How dare they act as their own savior!
