Christ says different...

Matthew 19:17
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Only command needed is to trust in Jesus to save you from your sins!
Scripture is clear, those who truly come into the light of the Lord, walk as children of light, not continue in sin and iniquity.

Ephesians 5:8-10 King James Version (KJV)
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

Continuing on, He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself
[John 19:18-19].

Where is the one that you think the whole gospel centers around?

Indeed it is, as saved by faith alone grace alone!

Where in the Holy Writ does it specifically say that? Answer: It doesn't. Final judgement will be made on the actions we have taken throughout our lives.

We must allow Christ in our lives, and depart from sin and iniquity, and walk in the light.
2 Timothy 2:18-20 King James Version (KJV)
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Just after mention of walking in the light (1 John 5:7),
the Scriptures state:

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." (1 John 5:8)

"If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us" (1 John 5:10)

Nice words, but they do not reflect reality. Have you ever ogled a beautiful woman? That's a sin. Ever been angry with your spouse or children. That's a sin.

No, the only perfect one was Jesus Christ, the rest of us are called sinners for a reason and that is becausefrom time to time we all do indeed sin. Tthere is a thing however called reconciliation, or asking forgiveness for our sins and we can receive that forgiveness because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

That is why you have to put on Christs robe of righteousness and walk in the light, He in us and we in Him, not continue in sin and darkness..

Romans 8:9-14 King James Version (KJV)
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Sorry bro, Its POSSIBLE.

Part of the problem is thinking its impossible.

Deuteronomy 30

11“For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. 12“It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ 13“Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ 14“But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it.

Matthew 11
28“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Even the attitude that its unlikely which i guess is normal for everyone to feel would still be a judgement on my part.

In a subtle way says how much you trust God.

Sorry, you think it is possible I don't. Even if you locked yourself in a dark room at some point your mind will drift and bam! - you will have had a sinful thought. We must always be on guard, but thankfully we of orthodox belief have the sacrament of reconcilliation, a very important thing to have for those who at some point will sin.

See, you have even admitted your sin - you made a judgement, no matter how well intentioned it was you still sinned. The fires of hell for you brother! (LOL)

The apostles thought its tough too.

Matthew 19
25When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” 26And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

You have the absolute right, to never sin again ever again starting right now till forever.

1 Corinthians 10

13No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

God always provides a way out.

IF you stub your toe sometimes it causes a chain reaction of unfortunate events. Believing its impossible to stop sinning is one of those toe stubbers.

The Best Math teacher will have you not only master math maybe even have you teach.

How GOOD is Jesus at teaching folks not to sin? Its a subtle attack, Its like saying your already convinced Jesus is a horrible teacher. We think well how many sinless folks has Jesus churned out since he stated his ministry? Then your view of reality starts making accusations.

This is one of those things we need to train ourself. TRUST JESUS.

Another example is Jesus says anyone who believes in him, WILL NEVER TASTE DEATH.

John 8 51“Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he will never see death.”

Now If I'm the Devil and I don't want you to believe that, What can I do? How about slowly trickle away your loved ones? Have everyone in the world tell you , you can't avoid it. Maybe give you a cough here.......how about a plague having everyone around you die? What is it going to take for me to break you and have no trust in God at all?
