As I said one falsehood after another:
1) Slavery as practiced in the South is condemned in Scripture, violating the do unto others as you would have them do unto you command.
No, doubt - but that has not been your contention.
Your contention is that the war over slavery - not how slavery was practiced. Even in this post you change horses mid stream. See the statements you made below for proof.
If the north wanted laws passed to regulate the treatment of slaves they could have done so.
But the north COULDN'T, because the same laws would have condemned their own states for the treatment of immigrants, workers, child labor ...
2) I have argued that the Slavery practiced by the South was evil, disgusting, sinful, immoral, and wrong.
No you haven't. You have argued that the South started the war and slavery was the cause. See the statements you made below for proof.
Are you now admitting that Slaver is not condemned in Scriptures?
Are you admitting that the North had no right to condemn the south when they treated their own with similar inhuman conditions?
3) Talk about irrationality!! Whether the North or the South started the war is not determined by whether the slavery practiced in the South was sinful.
Really? So, you are back to the south started the war over the established law of slavery and not the inhuman treatment of the South as it practiced slavery?
Then you must certainly be able to show that the Scriptures condemn the established law of slavery as evil.
4) The Civil War was caused by slavery, and the Southern leaders who took us into war to preserve slavery rank among the most evil leaders in America history, right behind those responsible for 55 million abortions.
Yep, Just as I questioned above.
You have every Scriptural authority to post of the mistreatment being ungodly. Evil treatment is evil - no matter where it occurs nor to what conditions or reason might be an excuse for the evil treatment. This is why Nebuchadnezzar (although called the servant of God) was justly judged by God - the evil treatment that went beyond what God ordained as appropriate for justice.
These issues need to be settled:
1) Was the established law of the US approving of slavery? Yes
2) Can it be PROVED by Scripture that slavery is condemned as evil by God? (that is yet to be answered on this thread)
The Godly southern gentlemen held that slavery was allowed by US law. Northern states also agreed for their own laws obliged the return of slaves to their owners. 2) Can it be PROVED by Scripture that slavery is condemned as evil by God? (that is yet to be answered on this thread)
The Godly southern gentlemen held that Scriptures did not condemn slavery as evil. It has yet to be proven otherwise.
Because the North violated their own established law, and the north refused to remove themselves from the southern confederation, then the NORTH then stands guilty of every death caused by their aggression toward the south.
