Now for those who are interested in serious, adult discussion, I repeat:

I see no evidence of any initiative to make vaccinations mandatory (i.e. a vaccine mandate). Making vaccinations a condition of employment is entirely different - employers, I believe, have the right to establish requirements for employment. I thought all you right-wing types wanted the government to lay off private business and let them do business as they see fit. Why are you guys suddenly objecting to letting employers dictate conditions of employment?

It is easy to pontificate about freedom and point out the obvious truth that, yes, the pandemic has restricted freedom. Well, no kidding - that is what happens when a serious public heath crisis arises. However, the real world does not lend itself to the naive, albeit attractive, notion that we get to be free to whatever we wish no matter the price others pay for our "freedom".

Yes, it is true that Dr. McCullough claims this. Here is what medpage says:

On average about 98.2% of known COVID-19 patients in the U.S. survive, but each individual’s chance of dying from the virus will vary depending on their age, whether they have an underlying health condition and whether they are vaccinated.

Important - that 98.2% survival rate includes vaccinated people. Unvaccinated covid patients die at a rate 1540% higher than vaccinated patients (the unvacvinated are 15.4 x more likely to die).

@Reynolds would have closer to an 80% survival rate and vaccinated people just shy of 100%.

Still....not bad odds until you think about numbers.

If unvacvinated people filled the Mercedes stadium to see a Falcons game and contracted covid, statistically over 14,000 would die.

The number is 99.7%. seen no credible data to the contrary.
If you take the total cases and deaths in my county, the total rate is 99.96%. According to my doctor, who is in a group that are the only doctors in the county, most of the deaths are elderly or multiple comorbidities.
Considering the fact that most folks around here will not test unless they are very sick, the percentage of survivability is probably much higher.

Yes, Black people received a smaller share of the vaccines. BUT White people make up the largest percentage of unvaccinated AND vacvinated. You are confusing percent of ethnic population with percent of unvaccinated. Black people only make up 13.4% of the population. With 25% unvacvination rate it is statistically impossible for Blacks to be the largest unvacvinated group.

Joe Biden has not, believe, ever talked about mandating vaccines. Again, requiring them as a condition of employment is not a mandate! If my boss says I have to shave my head to keep my job, that is his right. But I am certainly not being forced to shave my head!

Yes. That is what I said. The Black population has the highest percentage of unvacvinated people per racial category (regardless of vaccine....per the source @Reynolds provided).

BUT they do not represent the highest percentage of unvaccinated in the US.

The statement was incorrect. Most of the unvaccinated are White (as ate most of the vaccinated).
