4. Someone said I should be a little more cautious about what I say since I have apartheid in my rear view mirror. I have made it clear that I am not tackling a race issue because it is not an issue for me
OK I just have to ask, I have seen so many threads on this site that slate Barrack Obama. Please excuse my ignorance because I am not American but why do you guys dislike the guy so much? Give me some short, honest and factual answers. I mean you had that morally deficient president...what was his name, oh yes Bill "slick willy Clinton", who abused his power and acted like a sex-crazed, liberal reprobate and you loved him enough to forgive all his indiscretions. Then you had the Lobotomised Leader - El George W. Bush, who couldn't say 5 correct english sentences in a row, sent your sons and daughters to die in a foreign land and was obviously as corrupt as one of our south african civil servants, And yet you didn't chuck him out for all his blundering decisions, And now finally you have the first black president of the united states who has barely had time to exhale after his election and you stick the boot into him at every turn...forgive me guys but I gots to ask...
WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?????
...
2. The only thing I see the bible instructing us to do regarding our leaders is A. Obey them and B. Pray for them, ...
3. Maybe Obama is as you claim openly promoting abortion and commiting other atrocities but these things have alwas been going on and since the previous presidents did not go out of their way to prevent it happening...
5. ...a few years ago America could have been called a Christian nation. How is it then that these kinds of people keep getting voted in ...
Fair enough request.. Please excuse my ignorance because I am not American ... Give me some short, honest and factual answers.
I'm sorry, but I cannot adequately answer this with a 'short' answer. Yet I will answer. Then you had the [Slur snipped by me] Leader ... George W. Bush, [Insults removed!] And yet you didn't chuck him out for all his blundering decisions, ... WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?????
I'm not so sure it is sin, God hated so I still feel justified. When I see BO I see the evil an evil that is on par with Hitler and pol pot, thank you for your concern
BO is not my brother, so I don't hate my brother. You are in Christ and I don't hate you, see.
Now I will disagree that it's sin
"Do I not hate those who hate You, O Lord, and abhor those who rise up against You? I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies" Psalm 139:21-22
and I don't pray blessings on Evil which he is, BO is an empty shell filled up with evil. I do pray imprecatory prays for him as David did for his enemies
Psalm 35:5 - May they be like chaff before the wind.
Psalm 55:15 - Let death take my enemies by surprise; let them go down alive to the grave.
Psalm 58:6 - O God, break the teeth in their mouths.
Psalm 69:28 - May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous.
Psalm 109:9 - May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.
Psalm 137:9 - How blessed will be the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.
I don't hate him for personal reasons I hate him because he hates God
The OT is still valid, I am not just a NT Christian I accept the whole council of God. The OT is still valid
Might this be the "liberal love fest" you are referring to, I wonder? It is and if you brothered (sic) to read th (sic) Scriptures instead of liberal love fest ideas you would know
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor[g] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, (Mt. 5:43-44a - NKJV)
27 “But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. (Lk. 6:27, 35-36 - NKJV)
Maybe you might wanna' consider praying a wee bit longer, given -historyb said:Can't help it, may God forgive me. I hate BO down to my marrow and believe me I have prayed about it. (My emphasis!)
- or pray FOR him, rather than about this.bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,[h] 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (Mt. 5:44b-45 - NKJV)
28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. (Lk. 6:28 - NKJV)
great post ed !!!might this be the "liberal love fest" you are referring to, i wonder?ed
Thanks, although my purpose was certainly not to receive any accolades.great post ed !!!
You might wanna' consider finding a better source than "Michael Moore and Co." for almost anything, be it good or bad.REVMITCH SAYS
So where was your concern over sticking the boot to President Bush?
Well the truth be told I am simply reiterating what AMERICANS like Michale moorer (sic) and co. have pointed out to us about him. I have no vested interest in establishing a like or dislike or positive or negative opinion of any american pres. I'm just asking. And I was purposely derrogatory toward Bush and Clinton to see what response it would illicit and here you are defending bush. Is he more deserving of it than Obama? Surely any presidets policies are just a reflection of his personal beliefs and convictions but an expression of party thinking and that of pressure and interest groups. But some of the posts about OBAMA on the site have a distinctively personal tone and yet his personal life when compared with the other two for now seems far better, and surely your persoanl life is more a reflection od your character than your national policies?
AS FOR JOHNDEEREFAN WHO SAYS
Then why did you say "And now finally you have the first black president of the united states..."?
If race is not an issue, then why bring up his race?
My response is then if it is not an issue for you why are you the one that continues to harp on it? Do you want to pretend he is not black and that his challenges are not unique because he is black. I am not saying that that is why people dislike him but I do say that it is an historical fact. He is different. He comes from a people who came from my continent to yours as slaves and now he sits on the ultimate seat of power in your country. The same happened in mine. You are naive to think that any person of colour in any position is just like every white person...we are not all the same, maybe in value but not in experience or mindset.
But just to humour you and help you to not try and avoid the issue I will edith post and remove that statement. Maybe it will make the question easier to answer and less easy to avoid!

No, I just want to know why you brought it up if it isn't an issue to you.

You are wrong==The New Testament does not give us permission to pray prayers of judgment (imprecatory prayers). We are clearly told to love our enemies (Matt 5:44). You can hate his policies, you can hate his positions, but you must love him as a person. As a Christian you have no other option. Please, stop justifying your sin!
