Read my reply above and try to comprehend.
That is correct. Christians are told to help the poor and less fortunate than us, but government is not the medium. Before welfare, and all of the other programs, these needs were taken care of by the family and local church. There is nothin biblical about using the government to take what one person has earned and give it to someone you think needs it more. In the Bible, that would be called theft.
Jesus was never an advocate of using the proceeds of theft to help others.

That's the same bunch of hogwash that liberals have used to justify their mess in the past and now evangelicals are using that same "we're not electing a theologian in chief" excuse to buffer their own unGodly decisions.
So what? Seems that the evangelical masses are more concerned about saving folks to this world than they are to saving them for eternity. Might explain all the sudden willingness to compromise and support a false god worshiper.
I see that as a very weak argument and selfish stance.
Taking the earnings of others to use as you see fit violates every Christian principle in the Bible but fits right in with liberal behavior.
After all, people should not be given the opportunity to share with those in need on their own.
Only the government is capable of determining who is in need and who is not. And if there is any left over, they can use it for pork barrell projects to stay in office. Liberals are in need, too, and are notoriously weak charitable givers. Hypocrites.
It is obvious that Crabby does not comprehend carpro's sarcasm.
I really can't believe this question was unanswered.
....Jesus focus ministry than it is to upholding biblical values of peace, love, justice, and mercy.
And where does eternal death from rejection of said Christ come in ? What IS the central part of Christ's teachings ? To be nice to each other ?
I'm not sure I agree. There are plenty of people who throw Christ's name around, yet run and hide when is real message is presented.
Neither. Our job is to preach Christ, and him crucified. I think the Calvinists are right about the way baptists thump their chest over their anticipated jewels.

Name a country who's poplulation has done more to fulfill the great comission than the U.S..

Playing devil's advocate for a moment, one has to wonder, if all government involvement stopped to the less fortunate, would we be willing to help these people as much as needed since most alive today are used to the government handling the situation. Cutting these programs would be a reduction in our tax bill, but would we be willing to take that extra money and help those in need through our churches?
That's funny. I've already expressed time and time again that I don't support either of the evil men. So save your bearing of false witness for someone else.:wavey:
So you want a theological guideline for Presidents? Then maybe Jimmy Carter should forever be President and then the stupidity that was the Carter Presidency would continue.
"So what?" You really think that taking a human life is to be passed off so flippantly? I have given the last 30 years of my life to preaching the Gospel as clearly as I can. But I can still be concerned about life in this present time. Why? Because God is. He was the one who affixed a penalty to killing people and supports the rights of the living.
We had another troll here for awhile who used the "bearing false witness" game all the time.
I wonder if he's back? Trolls always eventually give themselves away.
I'd much rather support a Christian President and his bad economic policy than an unChristian President and his fantastic economic policy
The only thing that was flippantly passed off is this continued evangelical high horse that we're doing God a favor by saving babies but letting everybody else go to hell because we are hypocritically telling them they need Jesus but supporting a candidate who worships a false god.
My continued flippancy is to the hypocrisy of all of you who keep throwing Barack Obama supporting the murder of babies at CTB, but don't have a problem supporting your candidate of choice who worships a false god.
Is abortion a bigger sin than worshiping a false god? Being pro-abortion isn't gonna keep anybody out of heaven. Worshiping a false god will.
So which is REALLY the bigger issue in light of eternity?
You continually make a false dichotomy between being conerned about human life being preserved and a person's salvation. And you are wrong.
So you are confortable with President Obama's concept of god... the god (small 'g' intentional) of his former pastor... or maybe the god of his Muslim forebears?
Obviously, eternal salvation is much more important, but if they're killed, what chance do they have to ever hear and receive Christ as Savior.
You continually make a false dichotomy between being conerned about human life being preserved and a person's salvation. And you are wrong.
But this is a fruitless discussion. You won't change me and I won't change you. So I pray you're telling people about the Savior so they can have the eternal life we are both so concerned about.
