Mmmm, blackberry cobbler! I miss White Horse park in Oregon and all the amazing blackberries! We'd go out there to get away from the world and pick LOTS OF BERRIES!

They grow wild around here and are almost everywhere. We picked some from around our garden, behind my cousin's, and along the edge of the woods. We also went out to side of an embankment beside a grocery store that is a solid wall of blackberry briers.

I'm not looking forward to the thorns and chiggers, but I AM looking forward to lots of fresh berries. ;)

We ate at church tonight and they served Sloppy Joe's, hot dogs, chips, slaw, dessert and drinks. Tomorrow night will be Crockpot Chicken Supreme.

Ok, curiosity got the better of me and I had to google Melanie's dinner to find out what it was!
We are just 2 tonight, so dinner will most likely be the leftovers of last nights tacos remade to fit our mood.

A culinary disaster.....attempted to make vichysiose (potato and leek soup) ended up with far too much leek....any rescue remedies will be gratefully considered:BangHead:

I find the American dinners can be mind boggling as well.....I mean grits (blah...it sounds like road gravel), blue cheese sauce makes my tummy squirm...we should try a little thread of truely weird and wonderful.

Kiwis like whitebait pie.....I can't bear the sight of all those dead little fishies looking at me with their dead eyes...........ugh

Grits are basically a porridge made from coarsely ground corn. Some dislike it, but most Southerners love them. It's sort of like sweet iced tea... if you grew up on it you don't even think about it.
