yeah, pumpkin pie can go both ways, but we usually serve it cold or at room temperature. Now you need to try making a pecan pie. Mmm-mmm.

Dunno about the cracklinG, though. We usually just cook a ham and do that in a covered pan. Speaking of which, I may try to get one for this weekend...

We re supposed to have lasagna tomorrow night for our daughter's birthday. We've got to go and get the stuff in the morning to make it, or we may just buy a Stouffer's one.

If it hadn't been for Stouffer's I would have starved to death in college. I've come a long way since then.

When I make pecan pie it is 'deep dish'.

Dear Friend of God...it is a wretched nusiance that the fact I live on the other side of the planet prevents me from inviting myself to dinner at your place.....a House of Fine Dining.

Dinner tonight for me is Hashed Leftovers and Garlic Bread.

Fiesta Shrimp Cocktail, Winter Salad, Tenderloin with Cremini-Apricot Stuffing, Seasoned Potato Cubes, French Onion Drop Biscuits, and Magnolia Dream Cheesecake for dessert.

Brenda is finally home from a week in the hospital, so I'm celebrating with this dinner.

Melanie, many thanks for your gracious comments. I agree, 'tis sad you live so far away as you would be welcome at our table at any time.

Rachels (Reubens with cole slaw instead of sauercraut), green salad and chips. Dessert will be any of the plethora of ice cream we still have that the girls bought when we went away on our cruise. LOL

Dunno.

Last night was chicken meat loaf. With five kids, it's one of about three things that I don't get pouty faces about. If I make healthy food the older three are happy, if I make something coated in grease and dipped in a thick layer of salt younger two are happy, but THIS. (the oldest were raised by a Cali girl, the youngest two were raised in Georgia if that explains it)

We've finished trying to acclimate everyone and account for different tastes. Now I just cook and you either eat with a tolerable attitude or you leave until you're hungry enough to be very happy with what's on your plate.

And chicken meat loaf makes us very happy with what's on our plates. What's even more awesome is that ground chicken has a very short shelf life. Normally it's $2 a pound, but more often than not, I happen to find it marked down for quick sale and get it for $1 a pound instead, which is awesome because I found out very quickly that I have to use two pounds instead of one or everyone walks around aimlessly with empty plates, looking all dejected because there isn't anymore.
