Theme of the week is grilled some kind of meat with steamed broccoli and mashed taters. Quick and easy. Oatmeal for me again if I don't die before I get home from work, and I just might. Then they can have grilled filet-o-mom steaks wrapped with bacon. YUM!

    LOL Gina!

We are having shredded, leftover pork tenderloin, smothered with BBQ sauce from a bottle, homemade rolls of some sort yet to be determined, and some kind of french fry or potato wedge (depends on whether or not I have any french fries lol).

How's that for a hard and fast menu? :D

Not everything can be planned when you, well, live. (I was gonna say have a lot of kids, but even if you don't things happen)

Okay Cuz, what is a Cassoulet? Is it anything like a casserole? :D Doesn't matter, I want the recipe for it and the biscuits if you feel like sharing.

Gina, the lots of kids theory holds much water in this house. You've got 5 I've got 4 (though 1 isn't here through the week) and sometimes if they don't come downstairs when I call, they miss out!

Today's menu calls for........oh well, can't find the monthly menu plan, anyhow, we are having Garlic Herb Roast Chicken, Homemade Rolls, Baked Potatos and whatever other veggie my kids can find a can or two of! I have to work this afternoon and have the chickens in the roaster, rolls in the oven and they get to cook the rest! Although, I wonder if my potatos would overcook if I tossed them in with the chicken? Hmmmm............

I don't think potatoes can be overcooked! I've never managed to do it, they just get softer and absorb more flavors and get yummier!

Tonight we had hickory smoked salmon and roasted tater wedges and green beans.

The potato roasted fine so we'll do that again, even though one of the kids wouldn't eat his cause he was afraid it would taste like the chicken. crazy kid! I told him he was way to old for that sort of sillyness.

Tonight's supper was my Cuz's beef cassolet. Mmmmmm, it was good and will definately go on my fav thing to cook and eat list! (though I served it as a stand alone. It has meat, beans, tomatos and bisquit. Sounds like a one-dish meal to me!)

    :D

    Then share the recipe. :D

Tonight was hand-pulled barbecue chicken for sandwiches on seeded buns, seasoned fries, baked beans, cole slaw, dill pickle spears, and a dump it cake for dessert.

Okay, we need a SCREAMING WITH LAUGHTER emoticon! That is just HILARIOUS! (especially since it wasn't my kid and usually that sort of illogic runs rampant with some of mine!)

Tonight is red beans and rice with chicken that first got seasoned with a cinnamon, brown sugar, and a touch of chili pepper rub, then grilled to seal it and now is going to slow roast until tonight.

MMMMmmmm, I love breakfast for dinner. To bad I'm the only one, lol. Instead we'll be having:

    Southern Fried Pork Chops
    Mashed Potatos
    Green Peas

And for dessert, leftover pecan pie or maybe I'll have time to put together a Sour Cream Pound Cake.

Gina, I get logic like that at my house nearly every day! Today's excuse for not helping me clean out the large storage closet? My spleen is broken. Honestly, these are 15 and 16 yo boys, you'd think they'd outgrow this stuff eventually!

mk, I have one in an "I don't know!" phase. If she truly knows as little as she claims, I need to go post a praise that the child finds her way to dinner!

Which is parmesan chicken, mashed taters, and pea pods tonight. (very shocking, right?)

It's been a long, rainy day that included a fast trip over to B'ham and back. In keeping with fast, "I'm now too tired to cook", we are having:

    Chicken strips
Choice of French fries or onion rings
Ketchup. Lots of ketchup. Or BBQ sauce. Those are veggies right? :D

If they want a real veggie there are plenty of baby carrots and ranch dip in fridge, they can help themselves.

Ooh, sushi lover here! It just ain't sushi without the wasabi! (except I'm not hot on tuna)

Tonight is a chicken pie. I've never made one and had no recipe so the results should be interesting. I needed a fast meal so it's in the oven! If it works out is yet to be seen.
