I leave you with this article. If the Q&A is misrepresentative, by all means, correct it for me. It's only 1 page of Q&A:

Lets try a few verses....they seem to work for me, better then quoting men

Matthew 20:28 "Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."

Isa 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

Isa 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

And now look what the Father says to the Son....

Isa 53:12 Therefore will I divide him [a portion] with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong;because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

The Latin Vulgate is worded like this..."therefore will I divide to him the prey of many people;''

***********
Some try to rewrite this next verse. Please notice the word "to". :)

Hebrews 9:28 "So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation."

And then we have Isaiah 43...you know the chapter you hate the most. :)

How many times have I asked you to address Chapter 43?

Here's a good thread topic, joking of course:
Why are anti-Calvinist websites so tacky?
I just clicked through one of the links EX posted.
Classic example.

Didn't Jesus die for all creation? The greek Kosmos means universe, and we are told in Scripture ALL creation groans and longs for the day of restoration, not just humans. Christ's death was needed in order to restore all creation...not just mankind from sin.

just what I stated. Christ didn't die only for the "elect"...He died for the "kosmos" (universe). Are there "elect creation" and 'reprobate creation' not humans?

Are you saying Christ died for your pet dog? Web...man...tell me you are kidding.

Dogs were not told they could not eat from the Tree. Dogs do not sin....so do not need to be saved. If you really believe this, then tell your pastor to start a new "pet worship service"

Man is the sinner. It is man that messed up the place. all that happened in the fall, was because of man. All that happened at the Cross was the salvation of men.

Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins

>>>>>and who pray tell are His people?

2Cr 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Can you post where I said that? I didn't think so...

You don't think dogs suffer from the effects of sin? Go watch an illegal dog fight sometime and come back and tell me that sin hasn't affected dogs....or the great dane that weighs 30 lbs dying from starvation. I never said dogs sin, but they do suffer the affects of it.
Man is the sinner. It is man that messed up the place. all that happened in the fall, was because of man.
Man is responsible for the fall of Lucifer? I didn't realize man was around then...

Joking about what? Christ atoned for sin. Sin affects the universe, does it not? I'm kind of surprised you don't agree....with the whole "total depravity" view and all...

PD , Spurgeon , Packer , Nettleton , Whitefield , Barnhouse , Barnard , Herman Hoeksema , Gill , Toplady , Pink and many more evangelists would not say that God loves everyone and that Christ died for everyone . Christ came to die for His people . He did not die for those He did not know . Those he does not know will be cast in the Lake of Fire .

What an evangelist may say is that Christ , as Savior was the sacrifice for sinners . His sacrifice was complete and you need to avail yourself of it . There is no hope in anyone else to relieve you of your guilt and condemnation . Christ is the perfect Lamb of God . His Father , out of love , gave His only Son for sinners such as yourself -- today turn to Him -- this is the Day of Salvation .

Do you ever use the Bible to substantiate your theories?

While we wait on those other verses lets post a few more.

Does this verse limit Gods love to those that love Him?

Revelation 3:19
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

so...does God chasten all men? If so, what is the point of this verse?

I'm just checking back....still nothing I see...

So....how about another verse? :)

Psalm 16

3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight

Is anyone willing to claim that this verse applies to the whole world?
