That's what I said. I said they missed or ignored it.
Okay, one more try. They posted their comments based on your first post, which they came to in the thread, and replied. After replying they read the rest of the threat and saw your apology. They didn't miss it. They didn't ignore it. They read it AFTER they had replied to your thoughtless post.

Understand now?

There's an old saying that even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while. In that light I realize that even folk we don't agree with come up with a gem or two. I found this one a few years ago and it has stuck with me.

I have decided not to let my time be used up by people to whom I make no difference while I neglect those for whom I am irreplaceable. ~Tony Campolo

Once you get over over-reacting to my citing Tony Campolo take a look at what he's said. Time is finite. We all need to set priorities as to what consumes our time. Those demands are in a constant state of change which in turn demand a re-weighing of what stays and what goes. My life is no more or less complex that anyone else's but things are much different for me than when I joined BB 10 years ago or so.

I used to enjoy "iron sharpening iron" with a lot of folks including those whose beliefs were somewhat different than mine. It is possible to disagree but remain respectful, be passionate without rancor and firm without bludgeoning. Just my opinion, but we've lost that spirit here.

In the grand scheme of things BB has slid far enough down my list of priorities to the point where it makes no difference whether I participate or not.

Tony Campelo is a false teacher. I cant think of all the details at this time but he was rebuffed on a certain Way of the Master radio podcast. It was enough for me to pay no attention to the man. Of all the good teachers there are out there why do you even cite someone questionable?

If you are going to make an accusation you must support it. Back up your accusation or withdraw it.

Thank you for making this too easy.

I'll quote Job. I'm sure you will find the source acceptable....

"O that you would be completely silent, And that it would become your wisdom!
Job 13:5 NAS77

Brother, Padre knows that.

Read his opening statement about a "blind pig finding an acorn once in a while".

That means even a person who is wrong the majority of the time might say something right on a rare occasion. That's what he meant when quoting Tony Campolo was right about this one thing.

The quote had nothing to do with the Bible or scripture. And I thought it was a good quote about not getting bogged down with people who really aren't part of our group that God has given us to help and make a difference to.

You missed the whole point. I know that you have a hard time understanding sarcasm.

I understand completely. In my time here there have been times I read and posted frequently; other times I checked only a forum or two once in a while and posted hardly anything. The latter was especially true during my wife's terminal illness. Nothing said here seemed to matter a whit compared with that.

I used to enjoy "iron sharpening iron" with a lot of folks including those whose beliefs were somewhat different than mine. It is possible to disagree but remain respectful, be passionate without rancor and firm without bludgeoning. Just my opinion, but we've lost that spirit here.

I wouldn't necessarily disagree, although even in the "old days" there was plenty of SHOUTING and bullying and ill-considered posts.

Why even bother quoting a false teacher? Its just plain dangerous.

Being nice to him is not easy because he has been... Never mind you are right I should be more nice to him. Apologies...
Padre is someone I have respected for a long time. He has wisdom that you should avail yourself of.

On other occasions his sense of humor is keen. I enjoy his posts all-around.

There is a multitude of quality rich teachers to quote out there.

...............................................

So it's okay to quote from Joel Osteen

It all depends on the purpose of the quote.

"Bad company corrupts good morals." Guess who said that and then guess who quoted him.
