Where do we see the doctrine of free will in Scripture?
Luke 7
30But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected God’s purpose for themselves, not having been baptized by John.
I could say self explanatory. Notice they went against their purpose. God's purpose for them obviously was not toast in hell for eternity. Their purpose was to be baptized and saved and it was rejected.
If there is NO FREE WILL, they could not reject God's purpose at all.
Luke 13
1Now on the same occasion there were some present who reported to Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
2And Jesus said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were
greater sinners than all
other Galileans because they suffered this
fate? 3“I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
4“Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them were
worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem?
5“I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”
6And He
began telling this parable: “A man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and did not find any.
7“And he said to the vineyard-keeper, ‘Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?’
8“And he answered and said to him, ‘Let it alone, sir, for this year too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer;
9and if it bears fruit next year,
fine; but if not, cut it down.’”
1John 5
10The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.
11And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
The guy who makes God out to be a liar does so why? Because he does not believe in the testimony. Whats the testimony?
"
11And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son."
Well wouldn't the reprobate be telling the truth rather than a lie? Because according to scripture the TRUTH being rejected is there was eternal life given to said reprobate in his son.
