There has been an objective understanding of Scripture that has continuously stood from the Apostles till now. This is in the Catholic Church.

So we see the Apostles leave in place their successors having approved and appointing them.

We see in Acts 20, Paul calls all the elders together, elders he taught and trained to replace Him.

So we see from both scripture and the writings of the Fathers that the Apostles approved and appointed men to carry on their ministry.

So there is a living succession from the Apostles.

This is why we do not follow the human founded traditions from Luther onwards, because there is a living succession of approved men from the Apostles who maintain the One Apostolic interpretation of Scripture. Always have from the start.
