That depends on what you mean by ulterior motive. Everything that we do should be motivated to bringing honor and glory to God. Is that the unbelievers motive?:)

Great response. I had not considered that. . .

Anything which does not bring glory to God, in some way, is sin.

Christ help us, we all do!
True, but Moses had a special ; role in the plans of God, and God used him as an object lesson that its not the person, but the God over that person! Israel had to learn God was their provider, and not Moses.

so a lost man's motive to save a child from drowning is wicked. You, sir, are irrational. So in a reactionary act to save a life, a wicked man says, "oh yea, I'm gonna be on TV tonight!" Everytime. You let your theological framework of lunacy dictate your every statement. Very sad. Christ can set you free, my friend.

If you ever run into that AA - 12 stepper fellas sometimes they are convinced the only way to be christian is to hit the rock bottom of humility and self-loathing. You start to notice the carbon-copy of testimonies. I was a this and that, I did evil all over the place, worshiped the devil and ate candy from babies, drinking drugs, blah blah blah.............dear lord i am such a wretched trash and don't deserve a moment of anything or to be even whispered in your existence boo hoo boo hoo.........oh I am bad.......I have seen the light.

And then they proceed to interrogate everyone else of the same thing off their new found high horse.

Men typically have no problem with God's sovereignty in nature. He may rule the fish in the ocean and the waves of the sea. . . Men typically have no problem with God's sovereignty in governments. They allow Him to rule over the outcome of wars, the location of borders, and even US election results! However, when it comes to the clay that He has formed into men, He is bound by their actions and "free will". He must always and only act in the spaces that men's will leave open for Him to act in.

Men hate the idea of God's sovereignty in election because they hate the idea of God's sovereignty over them.

Do you allow for God's sovereignty except over your will? Is that the line in the sand that the King of Kings must not cross?
I love His Sovereignty over everything, including Election, but I also love that He has given us a choice to reject or accept His Him. ;)

Yet none of you explain how God is Sovereign in something you control. :Whistling

You control your imagination and your decisions. Likewise, you were given the freedom and responsibility to either trust Jesus or reject drawing of the Holy Ghost.. But at the end of the day, God is sovereign over the consequences of your actions.

Proverbs 16: 9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.

Observing how Christians behave and love others is a big part of it.

OK. So, how do you reconcile the fact that billions have lived and died without ever hearing the gospel proclaimed or taught, and have not seen a Christian?

How has God called every single man, without exception to your definition, contained in your two most recent posts, of His calling?

oh 17:20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word,
Joh 17:21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
Joh 17:22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one,
Joh 17:23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.
Joh 17:24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
Joh 17:25 O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me.
Joh 17:26 I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”
