No, its the new heart

Well its a funtion or performance of the New Heart Ezk 36:26-27

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes/cause to walk by Faith, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

When the Jailor aske what can i DO to be saved, Paul commanded him to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and he shall be saved, and he did do that command because he had been given a New Heart !

Do you know the difference between "faith" versus "faithfulness"?

Rabbit Trail question, deal with the facts I just presented in post 221. You either believe it or you do not !

To say this is a rabbit trail is to admit you do not understand the difference between what Christ does for sinners versus what sinners do for Christ. To fail to understand that distinction is failure to understand the very essence of justification "by faith" or even the essence of grace.

When you cannot answer a question or when the question exposes your ignorance of the scriptures this is your MO. To say this question is a rabbit trail proves it is either one or the other. If you cannot see the significance of the answer in regard to our topic then obviously you lack understanding of the very topic we are debating.

My question is central to our very discussion. Your unwillingnesss or inability to answer it reveals you simply do not fully grasp what faith in justification is or you would answer this question.

You obviously don't know the difference or at least acknowledge the difference between the assigned covenant work of the Son in obtaining the provision of atonement for the elect versus the assigned covenant work of the Spirit in applying the atonment to the elect. Neither do you acknowledge the passive sense of faith in justification in merely RECEIVING and RESTING upon what the gospel delcares Christ (which is "obtained" by God's work - 2 Pet. 1:1; Jn. 6:29; 44-45; 64-65) did for sinners versus active sense of faith in sanctification or "faithfulness" to God's commandments as the fruit of regenerative love as empowered by the indwelling Holy Spirit. The former is a creative work of God alone while the latter is the fruits of the Holy Spirit through the inward regenerated man. That is why Paul says "we are HIS WORKmanship CREATED in Christ Jesus UNTO good works" (Eph. 2:10) because the former is a creative work of God while the latter is the product of that creative work.

Yes, but it is also the STATE and CONDITION of the new heart when God gives it as God never gives a NEW but UNBELIVING heart! Verse 26 deals with the STATE of faith while verse 27 deals with the result of faith = faithfulness.

When the Jailor aske what can i DO to be saved, Paul commanded him to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and he shall be saved, and he did do that command because he had been given a New Heart !

That command although verbalized by Paul and Silas was empowered by the Holy Spirit (1 Thes. 1:4-5; 2 Cor. 4:6) and thus was the command of God (2 Cor 4:6; Rom. 10:17 "rhema") and effectually called the jailor out of darkness into light. Faith in the gospel REVEALED it was effectual as at that point in time the Jailor "obtained like precious faith" as a CREATIVE ACT of God because no man can come to Christ in faith apart from being drawn or faith "given unto him" (Jn. 6:65) and anyone that is being drawn is coming in faith or they are not being drawn because what God draws comes or God is not drawing. Hence, there is no such thing as an unregenerated believer or there is such a thing as a regenerated unbeliever because there is no such thing as drawing that is not coming at one and the same point in time. Think about it!

Now I have done what you asked, do what I asked and respond to my post. Show you can be charible or is charity part of your spiritual makeup?

Rom 10:9-10 is describing the Activities of a Regenerated Heart Ezk 36:26-27

26A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

The Regenerated Person with a New Heart will do Faith or Believe will do confessing. Those are doings of the New heart !

Now in doing them, they are giving evidence that are saved by New Birth Titus 3:5 !

You doing all this ranting and raving changes nothing !

Only a Saved Person can perform the activities in Rom 10:9-10.

A Lost Person cannot Believe the Gospel 2 Cor 4:3-4

3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Everyone who is lost, the Gospel is hid ! Hid is in the perfect tense in the Greek ! They will never believe the Gospel in a converting manner, never !

So you beleive that faith is SUBSEQUENT to giving of a New heart and thus the heart that is given is only CAPABLE of expressing faith but WHEN given is still an UNBELIEVING heart???

Think it through before you respond. Either it is a BELIEVING heart WHEN it is given or it is an UNBELEVING heart WHEN it is given.

Dude, have I stuttered ? Read what I have posted !

The Regenerated Heart belongs to a Man who has been born of God, the New Man Created in Righteousness and true Holiness. How can that Man ever be a Unbeliever ?

You doing all this ranting and raving changes nothing !

When the Jailor aske what can i DO to be saved, Paul commanded him to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and he shall be saved, and he did do that command because he had been given a New Heart !
When the jailer asked: "What must I do to be saved?"
Paul answered: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved."

That was the only answer given. You add to the word of God your theology. Why don't you just insert you have to speak in tongues first, get baptized first, confess all your sins one by one first, recognize the Peter as pope first, etc. You can throw anything you want in there. Your argument is all from silence.

Basically your argument is this.
Paul's answer is: "Jailer you must be a hyper Calvinist first and then you can believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved."

But praise the Lord, Paul didn't say that. You cannot take God's Word at face value. You have to keep reading into it things that are not there. The answer to the jailer's plea was simply:
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved."
IOW, salvation is by faith and faith alone (inspite of what SBG says).

The problem with SBM's posts is that he places more importance on being elect than he does on Christ's finished work on the cross.

I 've said what I said, and have not stuttered !

You do understand this is a debate forum, correct? I don't see why you are afraid to clarify your position when asked, this is what a good debator/teacher does.

Generally when a position cannot withstand tough examination and questioning it proves that it is weak and lacking. We have this going on with the sinless perfection crowd right now. When asked tough questions they refuse to answer.

You people aren't getting it: If you don't understand SBM's posts, then by default, you're unable to understand them. If you're unable to understand them, then according to SBM's posts, you're not one of the elect.

And if you're not one of the elect, well, then, you can guess what SBM thinks about you.

And that means there is no room for debate.

If this is true, then why would he not be banned? If he is preaching that anyone who does not embrace his interpretation of the scriptures on election will not be saved, then that should be grounds for discipline according to the scriptures. He should be asked to repent or be banned until he does. And that means giving a statement that he is sorry for accusing others who do not believe the scriptures as he does concerning election and that he has repented of that position and now believes those who do not hold election as he does is still saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Otherwise, by default, he is the one preaching "another gospel" and should be treated as an unbeliever rather than letting him treat the board as unbelievers.
