    So, I am genuinely interested in the teaching of apostolic succession.

    Secessionists please read post #57.

    Not trick questions not even the first as I believe the Church of Rome might be able to come up with a list (Cardinals are in the apostolic succession).

    No judgemental attitude unless you do it first :)

    But being that when you first posted a comment you didn't come at me with question(s) so the "season" was not then, nor now, and as I said, when someone says something that piques your conscience you should stop and wonder and question why.

    Judas' name will be there as well. He was an apostle of the Lamb.
    Now, Jesus Christ is a Lion.
    He comes back as a Lion.

    Yeshua1, when you die who will replace you since Christ replaces apostles (which are people)?
    When Christ births a new believer Christ does it Himself.
    Christ called me Himself. But I am not an apostle. Will I be replaced?
    If that's the case where Christ replaces the Church in the end will only consist of twelve people.

    What reference do you use, HankD?
    Some of these reference books I've looked at (Greek/Hebrew) have a tendency of "leading the witness."
    They add words around the definition which short-circuits the Holy Spirit.
    Yes, the Holy Spirit can be short-circuited.

    Your comment for defining an apostle said "sent one."
    That is one of the definitions for an apostle. Very simply it means "sent one."

    Here is the word in usage elsewhere:

    Mark 6:27 (KJV)
    27 And immediately the king sent [apostolos] an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

    There is nothing spiritual about the word.

    An apostle can be you if the Lord were to speak audibly to you and send you on some mission.

    But then are you a true apostle if you can't raise the dead, or the other RESTRICTED teachings in Scripture that are relied on to identify a true apostle?

    Still, you have been sent but can't raise the dead as is commonly nd erroneously held in the Church today?

    Would you be an apostle without the Scriptural identifying "marks" assigned to an apostle by others?

    After the military and marriage I attended San Jose College, Engineering, then Calvary University in KCMO. Graduated 1972.

    I took 3 semesters of koine Greek Reference: A Manual Grammar of the Greek New Testament, Dana and Mantey.
    2 semesters of Hebrew: Reference: A Practical Grammar For Classical Hebrew, J Weingreen.

    As you may have noted J I am not a successionist so your questions don't exactly fit me.

    However - whether I can raise the dead or not I don't know, I've never tried.

    But if I could, I wouldn't call myself an apostle but someone with a God given ability to raise the dead and perhaps yes someone "sent" to do just that while not saying of course that I am the 13th apostle.

    Hmm, I only made the honor roll once. Then B average.

    I had a family - 2 children (3 when I graduated), I had to work full time to support them, the GI Bill only paid for books and tuition and only about 3/4 of that.

    I am amazed that so many fall for modern day faith healers , such as Oral Roberts, who claimed a 700 ft tall Jesus told him to build ORU hospital, and yet their healing rate there is same as any regular hospital, do spcial healng power there!
