    The rapture

If the saints are to be kept from the hour of trial, why tell them to flee to the mountains? "World", as used in this context, refers to the Roman Empire. If you would correctly interpret the Scriptures, or at least set your "anti-Preterist" prejudice aside, you might be able to see what...

    The rapture

I must respectfully disagree with you, Brother. Closely reading the Scriptures is why I no longer believe in the Rapture. It is precisely from a close reading of Daniel, the words of Jesus in the Olivet Discourse, Revelation, etc. that have led me to the views I hold regarding the "end times"...

    The rapture

Again, thank you for the clarification. You have an interesting view regarding the rapture/resurrection that I have never come across. The general resurrection is the topic of Matthew 25:31-46 (judgement of sheep and goats). The judgements of the 7 Seals, Trumpets, and Bowls were fulfilled in...

    The rapture

So you meant to refer to 2 Corinthians, not 2 Thessalonians. Easy mistake. No argument that this passage refers to the resurrected body. Even when I was a Dispensationalist (many years ago), I never connected this passage to the Rapture. I believe the "rapture doctrine" comes from a...

Trump establishes 'Office of the Former President' in Florida

I really like the concept. "What's fair for the goose..." It shouldn't take the MSM long to mock it, of course. Another advantage of Trump taking some time off is to allow the new administration to reveal their total incompetence and their hatred of America. So far, they certainly haven't...

    Chief Justice and the Impeachment

If this kangaroo court of an impeachment trial is going forward, the Constitution requires the Chief Justice to preside. Of course, they have ignored the Constitution up to this point, so l don't expect them to suddenly adhere to the Law of our Land now.

    The rapture

I'm sure you actually meant to say 1 Thessalonians 5, since 2 Thessalonians only has 3 chapters. (Don't you hate it when you make those typos?) If I understand your meaning, the majority of your response is about our resurrected body. So far, no disagreement. However, the topic of this...

    The rapture

Sadly, too many people blindly trust the "prophecy pundits". I'd read about the Jesuit Catholic origins of the rapture, and I believe you are correct. Oddly enough, many of those who believe this interpretative fantasy would tell you that they follow the Berean's example of searching out the...

    The rapture

Now that you mention it, Brother Glen, the Rapture is primarily an American doctrine. Even at that, it's more commonly believed in the "Bible Belt" than anywhere else. I couldn't agree more that we ought to search the Scriptures out for ourselves instead of letting others do our thinking for us.

    The rapture

As we know, there are many views on many passages. Many of the interpretations from some people directly contradict the interpretations held by others. Yet, each sincere Christian, by definition, believes he/she is following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. How can we be sure? The obvious...

    The rapture

From your argument, I'm not quite sure how you draw your conclusion. Allow me to elaborate a bit on my views. The rising of the dead in Christ is a resurrection of all the righteous dead, and not merely of New Testament believers, at the time of Christ’s return. We clearly hold to different...

    The rapture

I believe the biggest misunderstanding regarding the rapture is the view that the rapture is a real event that's supposed to happen in our future. As @Dave G mentioned earlier, the popular "rapture" theory was popularized by Darby in the 19th century (@1830, if I remember correctly). This view...

What shapes your worldview? Which eschatological position do you hold?

My current end times position is Preterist. That is, most of the "end times" prophesies in Scripture point to 1st century Israel, not to our modern world. I believe these prophesies were fulfilled with the Jewish Wars ending in the destruction of the Temple in AD 70. The passages that have the...

Franklin Graham gives me the impression he is crazy.

Lots of proof - e.g. Republican poll watchers were denied to actually confirm votes; massive mail-in ballot fraud including "voters" who were deceased, under age, in prison, or illegal aliens; massive fraud from the Dominion voting machines that switched thousands of Trump votes over to Biden...

Franklin Graham gives me the impression he is crazy.

Okay, you got me there:Frown Still, Trump's electoral votes were stolen from him. That is not really an argument worth going into though, since the Liberals were successful in their scheme and Biden will be sworn in next week.

    Kelly Loeffler’s Sacrilegious Campaign

My lousy internet doesn't let me watch the video. Directly from the horse's mouth - from Loeffler from the Politico article, is this quote: (Loeffler) said she doesn't "know anything about QAnon, and I know how the media twists people's words." Politico is a left-wing opinion news outlet that...

Franklin Graham gives me the impression he is crazy.

We are agreed upon that point. As Isaiah 55:8-9 tells us, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts."

Several presidents in US history have won the popular vote and lost the electoral vote. Did you have a point?

Just my opinion, but I think Trump is going to stay active in the political arena in some way. He may possibly start another party, or do his best to change the current Republican Party. He will be out of office next week, but I wouldn't count him gone just yet.

No offense intended against your family, but I am absolutely certain Lincoln did everything within his power to keep the Union together.
