Here you say "many things" gives you eternal life. Jon asked you how one is to be saved and you said, "See my last sentence from 2 posts ago", which is this...."We have no common doctrine, but only a belief that a man named Jesus Christ died and rose again to offer us forgiveness from our sins...

Ouch! You will never get a Catholic to go there. It is too complicated for them to explain. As Paul said... 2Co 11:3 "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." I would suggest you...

Amen! Is the word of God our final Authority? 1Jo 2:27 "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in...

Ok. Is the word of God our final Authority? If we do, will you accept the word of God is our final Authority?

"The word of God is NOT our final Authority" Just meditate on that awhile......................... "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" "But I...

Here is the core foundation of each position; Camp A) The word of God is NOT the final Authority. Men are the final authority and may only reference the word of God for help on making their final authority decisions on what it is God wants. Camp B) The word of God IS the final Authority. Men...

So you want a specific verse that is written exactly the way you have said it needs to be written. If I were to show you a verse that is written exactly the way it needs to be written for it to be undeniably the truth, would you believe it? Or would you have to consider what the Pope had to say...

Mat 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every...

You pick out one incident when Jesus tells two Christians who have a person issue with each other and form a doctrine that the church is the final authority over the word of God???? So Jesus first says to take the issue before two or three other Christians. So before the church settles anything...

So for example, when Luther called them out for what he seen as false doctrine, these Leaders went to the Scriptures for guidance and decided God would want him hunted down and killed.

Still waiting for you to provide the bible verse that spells out PLAINLY and CLEARLY that The Church is the Final and Only authority.

You keep missing the fact that Paul was an Apostle of Jesus Christ. Apostles were chosen by Jesus Christ and given the authority to deliver the word of God. It has been delivered, there are no more Apostles other than the ones confirmed in the NT letters. What is left for us is the word of God...

So what you are saying is what Paul and the other Apostles had to say, which they wrote down for these churches in letters, which they commanded to be read to the congregations of these churches, was the Final Authority.

This is a very good point. Since Moses and the Prophets were long past away, Jesus obviously meant they had the writings of Moses and the Prophets. For those who had to rely upon the Pharisees (The Church) it was devastating. Jesus said to those Church Leaders... Mat 23:13 "But woe unto you...

So when folks like Utilyan demand "Is there a bible verse that spells out PLAINLY and CLEARLY..." we could say the word of God being the Final Authority is laid out clearly in the Scriptures, even though it is not referred to as such in the Holy Writ. You sure about that? What is the true Word...
