The Sermon on the Mount ends with a Bombshell

I don't think Johnny is part of a denomination. He is a senior pastor of an independent church.

The Sermon on the Mount ends with a Bombshell

Oh yeah, I didn't hear any of this...

We need more seeker friendly churches!

Does he add his own commentary? If you want to be consistent and non hypocritical you would have to do a read only with scripture and use the original Greek and Hebrew language.

We need more seeker friendly churches!

How about using English version bibles? And do you sing praise songs written by men and women?

The Sermon on the Mount ends with a Bombshell

In other words, no evidence. So my statement stands as truth.

The Sermon on the Mount ends with a Bombshell

If it is. Bring forth evidence.

We need more seeker friendly churches!

Does it use a church building, electricity, indoor plumbing and heating, paper and pencils, English version bibles? Does the preacher ever quote any commentaries? (All inventions of men).

The Sermon on the Mount ends with a Bombshell

Well it seems brother Browner is trying to explain to us we might not be on the right path. So maybe he ought to explain how he knows he is on the right path.

We need more seeker friendly churches!

Amen! Good article! It is God who draws men to Christ. When the Spirit moves them to come into our churches we need to give them just that, Jesus Christ, so they may hear the gospel and call upon Jesus Christ for salvation/regeneration.

The Sermon on the Mount ends with a Bombshell

Hey brother Browner, nobody here believes or preaches "easy-believism". It's cool though that you quoted Johnny Mac, a proponent of OSAS.

    Can An Arminian Be OSAS?

I was born-again at the young age of ten but it wasn't until age 33 when my salvation was challenged by some well meaning local church folks that God began calling me to search the scriptures to be sure I was indeed saved. After about two years of careful prayer and study I fully understood...

    Can An Arminian Be OSAS?

The very few Arminians that I have seen posting here do not believe in OSAS. I find it very odd to here Calvinist here say they do not believe that once God saves a person they are not always saved. Strange indeed!

Yes, it is possible to reconcile all of the New Testament Scriptures

Notice what is missing from this list? No Grace, the very Gift from God that Paul said ye are saved by. And what do we find in "your" list? "Yourself". "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we...

Yes, it is possible to reconcile all of the New Testament Scriptures

Salvation as explained by the Apostles in the NT boils down to Grace verses Works. Works is taught as an evidence of salvation and by no means a justification for salvation. I agree there are many who simply have not the Spirit at all and are lost by their works based salvation which Jesus came...

How do you know you are saved?

My own experience was I felt a conviction when I was lost, before I said yes to Jesus Christ. Tis why I wanted saved. Even the lost feel conviction of sin, maybe not all sin, but they feel and know moral right from wrong.

How do you know you are saved?

We have to be careful. Not all experience regeneration the same way. Think of small children who receive Christ. It may not seem so radical to them. I know a pastor who was saved on a construction sight. He use to be in construction and it wasn't until about a year later when the Spirit really...

Yes, it is possible to reconcile all of the New Testament Scriptures

I know some things in the NT can be a little more difficult to grasp, but It always amazes me how a Christian can read the NT and not understand terms like grace, gift, freely, faith, not of yourselves. How do you reason with anyone like this?

Yes, it is possible to reconcile all of the New Testament Scriptures

So basically you believe no one will be saved. Unless of course yourself, if you believe you are keeping the whole law each and every moment of your life. Me personally I believe I am saved by grace through faith, having been given the GIFT of eternal life and nothing of myself. Of course you...

Yes, it is possible to reconcile all of the New Testament Scriptures

I guess I should first know where you are coming from. Rather than me presume, tell me how you believe one is saved. Is it by faith? By faith plus works? By works? Personally I believe I am saved by grace through faith and not of myself, not of any works. How do you believe you are saved?

How do you know you are saved?

That's kinda sad brother. Dnt you read the NT scriptures? Most of Paul's and Johns letters are directed towards telling believers they ARE saved by GRACE THROUGH FAITH ALONE in Jesus Christ and NOT of yourself!!!!
