Not all Calvinists are the same

Here's what I see frm Calvinist, and I would say I have seen it from each one here on this board. Calvinist are convinced they have received special Divine revelation that Calvinism is the gospel. They believe "God opened my eyes" or something to that effect. To hear them speak they talk as one...

    4 Point Calvinism

I personally like the doctrines of grace by Peter, Paul, Matthew, mark, Luke, John, james and Jude.

    The Trinity

Well Trevor, dozens upon dozens of passages of Scripture has been presented to you that probably 99% of the Christian community clearly sees as declaring Jesus Christ's Deity and you have dismissed it all. So I just have one last question, do you think it matters? Do you believe there will be...

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

I understand Robust's explanation and your agreement with him. There is a difference of interpretation and opinion with this passage. I hold to Matthew Henry's interpretation as posted previously.

    The Trinity

Trevor, the bible is full of revelations from God which to human minds seems to be impossible. Tis why He is God.

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

What is missed is the exception Jesus Christ makes concerning the forgiveness of sins which His sacrifice will cover... "Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men." (Matt12:31)...

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

That would be saying the Pharisees had power over Jesus Christ to stop Christ from saving people. Calvinism likes to talk alot about God's sovereignty. Your exegesis strips Christ of His Sovereignty. I agree with Matthew Henry on this passage... "[1.] The favour proposed was the gathering of...

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

Sadly, we see quite a bit of this language coming from the Calvinist Christian camp. It puzzles me how Calvinist believe they are so dead right about the theology of the bible, how scripture teaches doctrine, yet seem to totally miss the love Jesus Christ taught in the scriptures. It's kinda...

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

And this doesn't change the fact that in John 3:16 Jesus is speaking of the whole world. We know this because of additional scripture confirming Jesus Christ is the propitiation for not only the saved, but for the whole world. (1Jo2:2)

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

Could be. So is this the gospel at that time for them to believe? They certainly new nothing of Jesus Christ crucified and raised again, which is what we generally think of when we hear "gospel". Also, Hebrews points to the Israelites as having been preached the gospel in the desert. Where is...

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

Everyone go ahead and take some time to mull this over and then give an answer. This pertains directly to the OP's premise that millions have had no gospel at all given to them. Icon presented Gen 3:15 without any explanation of how the hearing of these words alone saved Adam or his family. Did...

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

Ok, so when Adam heard this, he then was saved? And what about Adam's family? Are you assuming Adam told this to his family and then they were saved? Did Adam just tell Abel but not Cain?

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

What gospel did Adam and his family have?
  14. steaver

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

The answer to the OP lies in the definition of "the Gospel". What gospel did the Israelites have while wondering in the desert? What gospel did Adam and his family have?

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

I do not post anything I would not let my children read , nor my Pastor, nor my congregation that I attend. In fact they have access to this board. Not sure what you are finding offensive in my post. Maybe give an example, you say the last 25, I don't see anything personal.

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

What revelation was available to save Adam and his family?

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

Oh I get it now! Sorry, usually when someone types OP they are referring to the Original Post. Yes, I was missing that part.

Really all you have to do is go to their pages and read their responses to different threads in the Calvinism debates. That's all I will do to send you some quotes. I will look up some of them if you want and PM you. RM quoted post #27, not the OP.

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

Really? Have you not read many of the constant personal attacks by Calvinist here? Icon and TC are top offenders. So I guess they are walking in darkness.... RevM wasn't quoting anything from the OP. It was a comment made afterwards.

The Millions Who Never Had a Choice

You have not been here long. There are some Calvinist on here who do quite well at hurling insults in about every response. I agree though it must be because they have no defense for their position.
