It produces newness of life or new birth !

So much study....so little understanding. Have you ever considered asking the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you are reading? I'm curious, have you come to these interpretations on your own, or with a group of other Christians in bible study?

    Confessions of an ex-Arminian

 That always bothers you doesn't it? Could be a bit of that pride and arrogance I spoke of. May be Calvinist are just etter educated with propper grammers.

    Confessions of an ex-Arminian

Amen  . I have a good friend who after wobbling on the fence about Calvinism many years has decided to swallow the hook. Now as long as he does not allow the theology to lead him where it must, he will stay loving and kind to all, especially the brethren. To be honest, I see more pride...

    Confessions of an ex-Arminian

When Calvinist talk about the doctrines of Grace they need to understand that Arminians and all the Christians who fall in between Calvinism and Arminianism also believe in the bible's "doctrines of Grace". You kinda talk past non-cals when you believe Calvinism holds the doctrines of Grace and...

Faith is a Good Work we do after being created in Christ !

People address your points directly. The problem is you just want someone to agree with your points and repeat them back to you verbatim. This is a debate board, you post your points and then others challenge them if they do not agree. We all understand your points quite perfectly, there is no...

Pathetic. He countered your points thoroughly with sound reasoning.

Faith is a Good Work we do after being created in Christ !

It has been done. You have been rebuked. Now it's up to you to either repent and align yourself with the Scripture, or continue on in error..... Paul was clear in his teaching that faith was not in the works he spoke of. You have positioned yourself directly opposed to Paul.

Faith is a Good Work we do after being created in Christ !

"In these three phrases;(not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works) Paul embraces the substance of his long argument in the Epistles to the Romans and to the Galatians, that righteousness comes to us from the mercy of God alone, is offered to us in Christ by the gospel, and is...

Faith is a Good Work we do after being created in Christ !

What is there to prove? You made you points clear and I find those points skewed in judgment. You misunderstand and misapply many scriptures. Was Jesus fictitious when He said, "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I...

Faith is a Good Work we do after being created in Christ !

I understand them perfectly. Do you understand this quote? "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved".

Heard the most interesting calvinist statement

What interesting about Calvinism is that it must have regeneration/living water happening before belief or else it totally fails. Problem is, nowhere is this position found in the Scriptures. In fact, Scripture makes it perfectly clear that the living water was not given until after Jesus Christ...

    Destiny of the un-evangelized

Answer yourself these questions brother; Does the Holy Spirit have many diverse works, or just one? Does the scripture state that John the Baptist was filled with the gift of living water? What gift was John the Baptist filled with? There is One Spirit with many attributes which He...

    Destiny of the un-evangelized

If I misunderstood, then you should clarify your post, I quoted what you said.

    Destiny of the un-evangelized

Do a study on the "kingdom of God/Heaven" and see if you find it going on prior to the NT preaching of it. Let me know what you find in the OT. And it is in there (Nic should have known it was coming) but you will find it is spoken of as a "new" covenant to come. "From that time Jesus began to...

    Destiny of the un-evangelized

The "therefore" you are concluding is totally of your own making. All of Calvinism's errors spin off of this one fallacy, which is the Holy Spirit rebirth precedes faith and that it also is nothing "new", even though God said He was going to do a new thing and have a new covenant. The Calvinist...

    Destiny of the un-evangelized

There was no such thing as "born again" prior to the glorification of Jesus Christ (John 7). Calvinist are obligated to believe there was, even without any scripture support of it at all, in order to propagate the doctrine of rebirth precedes belief.

    Destiny of the un-evangelized

So only those holding to your own beliefs concerning the gospel are God's "true church"? Only those holding to the same statements of faith as your church does are God's true church? These John tells us about are not saved. John is not talking about Christians with different views.

    Destiny of the un-evangelized

Those in the flesh ( having not the Spirit of Christ) cannot please God. The only way they can please God is to surrender oneself to Jesus Christ and receive Him as LORD. "If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and...

    Destiny of the un-evangelized

We are discussing the born again here reading scripture, not people in general. Again, we are not talking about ALL people reading the scripture. But ALL who are in Christ have the same Holy Spirit teaching them application as they read.
