Let's discuss the differing views of Biblical Election

Slander: The action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation. What false statement did I make about you that damaged your reputation? Please be specific. And then explain how your act of taking a bunch of quotes out of their context and labeling all...

"Draw" in Jn 6:44--What does it mean in your opinion???

How about I point you to a post back when I WAS a Calvinist? http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=21808 Somehow I think that still won't convince you. :)

Let's discuss the differing views of Biblical Election

What issue? I saw that you reported my post because you felt I misrepresented you, but if that was a rule violation we would have banned everyone by now because everyone feels misrepresented at times. The correct response is to debate me by showing how you feel I have misrepresented your...

"Draw" in Jn 6:44--What does it mean in your opinion???

Don't blame me if you can't recognize a common debate fallacy. "Question Begging" is the most common fallacy and it can't be rationally rebutted any other way than to call it what it is. If I don't call it out then it would turn into an endless cycle. That is why Question Begging is sometimes...

"Draw" in Jn 6:44--What does it mean in your opinion???

If you only knew.... I'll tell you what. Let's start an "opposite thread" and I'll defend Calvinism while you defend our view and see who better understands the other? That should be interesting.

"Draw" in Jn 6:44--What does it mean in your opinion???

Nope. I'm speaking relative to the much greater number of those on the board road who presumably remain unchosen by God according to your dogma. (ref. 'few are those who find it...") Nope, but I don't believe it's God doing the limiting... Those who perish do so not because God didn't love...

"Draw" in Jn 6:44--What does it mean in your opinion???

You beat me to it. I guess they have never understood "Arminianism" either by this logic. I refer them to the quotes in my signature. Plus, you will notice that he fails to point out any specific thing I said that was misrepresentative of his views. I doubt he will...

"Draw" in Jn 6:44--What does it mean in your opinion???

Oh, I gladly affirm both of those truths, but its when Calvinists read into the biblical teaching of God's sovereign election an individualization aspect, by which God preselects a few to the neglect of all others that I cry foul (and which you seem to do as well at times. :) )

"Draw" in Jn 6:44--What does it mean in your opinion???

When you present the actual point of our divide, then I will. So, far it has just been one false dichotomy after the other. :)

The LILAC of Arminian and Non-Cal Theology

Hey Webdog, Remember that Calvinistic guy (I won't give his name because I don't want to be accused of anything) who said, "God is in control of absolutely everything." He is obviously a heretical fatalist that believes God causes men to sin, I mean just look at that quote. That must be what...

The LILAC of Arminian and Non-Cal Theology

Why would they when you have already labeled them as heretic and show no willingness to deal with the actual context and intent of their quotes? I know I wouldn't bother... No. You are the one bringing the accusations, you do the work to support it. I won't carry your burden of proof for...

Let's discuss the differing views of Biblical Election

If you go back and read my posts you will see that I affirm their will be countless multitudes saved, but that doesn't change the use of the word 'few' by Jesus himself as a relative term compared with the board wide road and countless MORE that will perish. Why do Calvinists reject a relative...

The LILAC of Arminian and Non-Cal Theology

Yes, I read some and I didn't see any of them rise to the level of the "Pelagian" essentials we already discussed. Plus, I didn't read them in their context so how could I make such a judgement? It appears from Webdogs, Quantum and Winman rebuttals here that they indeed do reject the essential...

The LILAC of Arminian and Non-Cal Theology

    1. People can recognize their own quotes and know if they have been taken out of context, misapplied and labeled as heretical even if you haven't credited their quote with an actual name. 2. This is why we have asked you to simply link the quotes to their context. 3. None of the quotes, that...

"Draw" in Jn 6:44--What does it mean in your opinion???

Granted, none of us can fully understand how it all works, but we can understand the parts of it that have been clearly revealed and those are the parts I'm attempting to discuss with you.

    Belief in the Five???

    I agree.
  17. Skandelon

"Draw" in Jn 6:44--What does it mean in your opinion???

No, because they believe the 'general calling' of the gospel is the means God has chosen to bring His elect ones to faith and repentance. So, while the gospel would be worthless to the non-elect they don't claim to know who is and who isn't elect, so they still believe that the gospel should be...

"Draw" in Jn 6:44--What does it mean in your opinion???

In their system, it does nothing for the non-elect because they are spiritually dead and thus can't really 'hear, see, understand and repent.' I believe that is the condition of a judicially hardened individual, not the condition of all men from birth, as Calvinists do. Consider what Paul...

For the Calvinists: What are Key Points of Calvin's Theology beyond TULIP?

Yes....... I don't think Jesus would lie to make his point, do you?
