When did it all go wrong?

Biggles was a character created by Captain W E Johns in various novels lauding the exploits of this fictional British airman and his friends Algy and Ginger; the novels were compulsory reading for Brit boys of a certain generation and class (including me), are marvellously non-PC (all...

When did it all go wrong?

The actual intro line is, "I didn't expect some kind of Spanish Inquisition."

When did it all go wrong?

I think that Constantine is a bit of a red herring. The Church no doubt changed in character as a result of the 4th century Establishment, becoming more wealthy and generally more 'worldly' but nothing much changed in doctrine and practice that hadn't already changed previously and wouldn't...

    Rome and Finished Revelation

You want to have it both ways, don't you. Which is it to be?

    Rome and Finished Revelation

...all of which rather gives the lie to your claims that 'Roman monks' covered up the evidence....

    Rome and Finished Revelation

Who are these 'Roman monks' that you keep going on about? What were their names? Where did they live? What did they write? Or have you just pulled them out of the ether like the rest of your 'church history'?

Speaking in Tongues- What is it?

Personal anecdotes do not make good doctrine; it's the existential tail wagging the theological dog.

When did it all go wrong?

So, again, I ask, specifically which new heretical doctrines did Constantine impose on the Church? Which apostate Bishops did he appoint (what were their names)?

    Couldn't agree more!

Speaking in Tongues- What is it?

Yes. Being saved doesn't make you infalliable. Maybe, but they can't confess Jesus as Lord. Judge them by their fruits with reference to the Gospel. Some are charlatans and snake-oil salesmen, it's true, but others help bring many souls to Jesus.

Speaking in Tongues- What is it?

Simple! Do they further the Gospel or not? Do they cause the recipients to declare that Jesus is Lord?

Speaking in Tongues- What is it?

Fascinating. So, Satan heals today, but God doesn't?

What about miracles at places such as Lourdes?

    Rome and Finished Revelation

So why are Paul's letters to the Corinthians included but not his letter to the Laodicaeans? Why isn't the Epistle of Barnabas there?

    Rome and Finished Revelation

So you don't actually know that the Bible on your bookshelf contains the correct Books? And yet you presume to comment on that those Books say? Amazing!

    Rome and Finished Revelation

And so are you. How do you know? Like the Trinity, you mean? Sorry, but none of what you've said demonstrates this.

    Rome and Finished Revelation

That doesn't answer the point - did the Holy Spirit take a nap after St John the Divine put down his quill/scribe at the end of Rev 28? That doesn't answer the question either. I asked you to be specific, and you have failed to do so.

    Rome and Finished Revelation

Specifically which doctrines? And where in those epistles - chapter and verse please.

    Rome and Finished Revelation

I'm not - my contention is that the so-called 'uninspired' men were inspired by the Holy Spirit - unless you're saying He's been sleeping for nearly 2000 years? So which church are we talking , then- Antioch, Jerusalem, Alexandria, another location? Be specific Evidence, please. Then why...
