The New Birth and Soul Salvation

I believe that our salvation is three part, with each part relating to a different part of our being: 1. Born Again = Spirit "that which is born of the Spirit is spirit" John 3:6b 2. Soul Salvation = Soul "Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with...

The New Birth and Soul Salvation

I'm unfamiliar with the concept of corporate regeneration, but I am open to studying it further

The New Birth and Soul Salvation

This is actually one of the passages that I believe shows that they are two different concepts. 1 Peter 1: Verse 3: "which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again" (past tense) Verse 5: "kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed" (future tense)...

The New Birth and Soul Salvation

Where in the Bible is it taught that being born again is the same thing as salvation of the soul? I'm not really looking for general "salvation" passages, as I do believe that both are parts of our salvation (just as the adoption of the body is not the same as being born again, but both are...

    Pants on Women

I personally believe that pants were once "men's attire", but no longer are. Also, for a woman to wear pants a few hundred years ago, it would have drawn attention for sure. So, pants on women would have also been immodest. In our current society though, pants are perfectly acceptable as women's...

    Pants on Women

@Scarlett O. I'm actually female as well :) For context: I married an IFB man, and willingly gave up my pants for him. I've become increasingly conflicted about it though. Last summer, at the beach, I saw a Muslim woman wearing a swim tunic and leggings, complete with head covering. It struck...

    Pants on Women

@AustinC and @JonC Out of curiosity, do your churches consider themselves IFB? Prohibiting pants on women seems to be common in the IFBCs in my area, including the one that I attend. There seems to be a slow movement away from this though. Is this the case in other areas as well?

    Pants on Women

Is it viewed as okay for women to wear pants in your church? Is it different in church vs. other public places? What is the predominant view amongst the IFBC? There seems to have been a shift away from skirts/dresses only in my area.

Should we care about people going to Hell --

Some of Christ's words, (and the imprecatory Psalms spoken prophetically by David as the words of Christ), absolutely show a sense of delight in the destruction of the wicked. The Martyrs under the alter also show this desire for vengeance. But we, who are still imperfect flesh ourselves, are...

    TULIP -

@tyndale1946 Nevermind. While I agree with the points of ROSES, as I understand them, I don't agree with this: "According to Molinism, God omnisciently knows what you would have been like had you lived in Africa instead of Australia, or had a car accident that paralyzed you at age 9. He knows...

    TULIP -

Never heard of this before, but I think I may be one . I'll have to look into it. Thanks for the info!

    Reconciliation

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

    Reconciliation

"Total spiritual inability"? Total unwillingness would be more accurate: John 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 2 Peter 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of Hithe water and in the...

    Reconciliation

Every person, of their own will, ignores, or outright denies God's offer of life through belief. This is true of all of us, until God "calls" us. And not every one is called. I mean they were convicted by God. "Pricked in their heart". It's more than just an invitation, more like a summons...

    Reconciliation

Acts also shows that individuals were "called" before they responded in faith: Acts 2:37-39 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized...

    Reconciliation

Except that James 2:5 says that God chose the poor rich in faith, not that he chose the poor and rich in faith: James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? And there's...

    Reconciliation

"Every one" rejects Christ. This is the condemnation of fallen humanity. John 3:19-20 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the...

    Reconciliation

I think I fall somewhere in the middle of these two, and subsequently draw fire from both sides... (1) God selected Christ to redeem mankind before creation. (1.5) God knew that mankind would universally reject Christ, so He chose the lowest and weakest of the bunch to save...
