He wrote that the earthly powers were ordained to bring wrath to evildoers, did he not?

Paul's passage does not have an international application. It describes ministers of a country upholding laws in their own countries - not invading other countries.

Praise God that He will be the one glorified in the approaching Ezekiel's war. It was inevitable that America would step out of the way to embolden the Gog-Magog alliance in their lust to come against Israel.

That is debatable. But I thought we were talking about Iraq authorizing a strike by an ally, so that was all internal anyways.

Boy you are so wrong. Gave my wife and me quite a chuckle. Thanks.

I was in the USAF, Minot ND. And I hate Obama. You are way off.

And, no, I actually talk up America when the topic comes up. But I also speak the truth about its faults. That is the very spirit of the America I grew up believing in. The freedom to praise or criticize. How about you?
Good times, happy to be wrong. Cheers.

Moving the goalpost. Your comment was an attempt to justify our actions in the Middle East, right? Our actions are not even in the same hemisphere. Nothing internal at all about that assassination.

We can debate the actions that got America into Iraq. But that hit didn't go down without the consent of the Iraqi government. So unless you I missed in Romans 13 where to earthly powers can't work in concert, I'd say the goalposts are right where we left them.

(Whoo, pardon me, I see where I was way off on my chapter of Romans earlier.)

Hey, I just noticed something. I see under my avatar that, though I have been here since 2007, I haven't nearly as many likes as these young whippersnappers. I better ease off on this ... what was it called? ... "left-leaning" attitude.

Nah.

At any rate it is time for bed.

So the animosity of Iranians to us is not from Islamic fanaticism - at least not historically. It is from our stealing their democracy from them. This animosity enabled the destabilization that led to the Mullahs coming into power. And it has largely fueled the Iran of today's attitude towards us.

If Iran is a monster today it is a Frankenstein of our own making.

The fact that no one here even mentioned this important antecedent is very telling.

It is beyond ridiculous that you believe you can pin point the USA as evil greedy manipulators, present a biased view of past events while suggesting our goal was denying them democracy for our own gain and THEN question beg your conclusion in order to justify the atrocious actions of Iran today across the world while you, in typical Leftist Globalist traitorous fashion attempt to defend them!

Iran is the 21st century modernized Third Reich.

Iran was fine until Trump began his crusade to demonize them, skipped out of a Nuclear agreement, and began to assassinate its Generals. Trump is reaping what he has sown. Let the whining begin...

Toronto leftists are rallying for Iran and holding a candlelight vigil for Soleimani, who didn't kill himself.

the Iran/Iraq problem is as old as Abraham 's son Ishmael. TRUMP IS REAPING WHAT ABRAHAM HAS SOWN.

Ismael is the human solution to Abram and Sarai's childless estate.
Even after YHWH had told them they would bare a son they took it upon themselves to give God a helping hand.

Sarah gave Hagar her housemaid to Abraham and told Hagar to have a baby with Abraham as her proxy to give seed for God to make a blessing for all humanity. Abraham agreed.
Hagar became pregnant.

this caused Sarah to treat HAGAR VERY UNKINDLY so much so that Hagar took Ishmael and ran away into the desert.
they were dying and the LORD rescued them and gave this message

Genesis 16
11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

He became the father of the Arabs who are tribal of IRAQ/IRAN.

Not meant to derail here.

Ive always found this passage interesting and have spent hours contemplating it

Ex 6:3. Says that the Patriarchs did not know God as YHWH, but as God Almighty

Sorry, back to the discussion

Let's get this Iran nuclear deal straight. This was an agreement only between the Obama administration and Iran that really was not binding on the nation at large. The only way for Obama to insure that his agreement would be observed into the future was to have it ratified by the U.S. Senate and that clearly did not happen.

So we need to place the blame for Trumps withdrawal from the Iran agreement squarely where it belongs - right on Barrack H. Obama who, knowing it had little support in the Senate (even from Democrats) did not present it to the Senate for ratification as the Constitution so clearly says must be done for it to be legally binding.

The very thing the founders of this country were trying to guard against was people like you.

I am not "suggesting" anything. I presented facts. Which of these do you deny?
1. Iran had (past tense) a democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh.
2. Britain and the USA (through the agency, especially, of the CIA's Operation Ajax) overthrew that leader to reinstall the leader from the previous dynasty, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

Overthrowing a government is manipulating. Yes or no? Manipulation comes from greed. Am I misconnecting dots here?

They had a democracy (admittedly, incipient).
They don't have one now. The closest they were to one was 1953.

And how am I leftist for criticizing my country? It only seems like leftism because you are so far into the red that middle seems far away.

Globalism is a current plague on our countries. I disavow all that.
