Jesus made Peter head of the Church to Peter first person singular ( binding and loosing ), then later to the rest of the Apostles.

As for the lesser of two evils.

“It is better that one man should die, than the whole nation perish”

If Peter was made 'head of the Church (as you say), why didn't Paul follow Peter's example rather than rebuke Peter?

Galatians 2:11-15 (KJV) But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

Wait, The pope isn't Jewish is he?

Peter apostle to Jews, Paul to the gentiles, and James to "mother church", so they had 3 "popes" back then?

There isn't scriptural warrant for such a self-proclamation. When the Devil used for such a self-proclamation before JESUS, our Lord said: " Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of GOD, but those that be of MEN".-Matthew 16:22-23. This was and is what must be said to the Devil, to the demons.

JESUS made it clear to His disciples: "It is enough for the disciple that he be as His masterMatthew 10:25

The Word of GOD says by the book of Revelation that SATAN Himself made the NAME of Peter as head of his demonic body, the head of his Church, the Great Prostitute, the Roman Catholic Church.

Revelation 17:1-7

1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the Judgment of the Great Whore that sitteth upon many waters: (peoples, and nations, and multitudes of all tongues, in Europe, and Asia, Africa, Oceania(Austrália &Other cowntries), NORTH AMERICA, Central America and SOUTH America.Her roots:->Revelation 13:2)

2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth(followers of the Great Prostitute) have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. (It is what we have seen in this site, you have drunk of her fornication)

5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.

6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. (But now, even now, and from now on, will be cast into the hell's fire-Revelation 19:19-21, take a look)

7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel?
