Met a date at Red Lobster for a broiled seafood platter;
Had to wait 40 minutes, but it really didn't matter.
Garlic shrimp scampi with scallops and flounder,
Garlic biscuits and salad-- I feel a bit rounder.

Wifey and I were out and about yesterday and thought about having lunch there. Decided not to for precisely that reason.

MMMM, shrimp, scallops(my fav!) and flounder. Sounds wonderful.

We deep fried shrimp with beer batter ourselves last night. And dipped our onion rings in the same mix. Yumm!

Tonight, will be mexican chicken corn chowder. It's a new recipe someone recommended to me out of an older southern living book that I just happened to have a copy of. We'll see how it goes over..........(my folks don't like change).

That's a jealousy inducing post, Alcott!

Today it depends on who is feeling sick or not. I roasted a chicken, we have salad and my daughter fried up zucchini. For me it was broth I made from the chicken, one kiddo had chicken and zucchini, one had a bit of zucchini and tea, and not sure about the rest. Everyone is in different place doing different things and coming home at separate times, so it's just one of those days!

 Oops... I just noticed this thread is under 'Women's Public Fellowship Forum'. Excuse me ladies while I see myself out.

Tonight I am going to make my homemade lasagna..

I was thinking Manicotti at first. But I like lasagna and want the faster of the 2 to make:thumbs:

If you never tried the no boil noodles I recommend them a lot.
It really is faster and tastes just a good.

It's all right Arbo, we have men who post here quite often. My Cuz, Friend of God is a man and he posts quite often. (he's a better cook than me too, but then again, *I* don't cook. I merely throw cans at the stove and hope some edible comes out. :D )

I have absolutely no clue what we are having for supper. This is in spite of having bought a freezer full of meat and a diningroom floor full of groceries (that are of course still sitting there). The problem isn't having ingredients, its what to do with the ingredients that sounds like something we want to eat.

I'll come back when I figure it out!

Welcome Arbo. No need to stay away from here, the Women tolerate we amateur cooks very well. Many thanks to my Cuz for her kind words. I cook as a hobby and as therapy for depression.

Wife's been in the hospital for a week now with a Migraine headache they can't seem to break, so meals here have been fast and easy.

Tonight is BLTs, Tomato Soup, and French Fries.

Well in that case, Thurs was spaghetti and meatballs (1 3/4 lbs sirloin, 1 onion, 2 cloves garlic, 2-ish tsp oregano, pepper, and 2 eggs).

Last night baked a turkey roast w/ potatoes and gravy.

Tonight will be homemade chicken soup, mandarin orange, blue cheese and walnut salad and homemade bread. I think I'll make a blueberry pie with whipped cream for dessert.

Fried rice. It went so fast I didn't get any and ended up running out and getting a cheapo thing of shrimp scampi, rice, and veggies to go (LJS)for myself.

Mahi-Mahi for me, although I did have a couple bites of the grilled chicken alfredo I made for everyone else. Reminder of how much I dislike alfredo...both that and pesto sauce should be banned from human consumption, right after tuna fish casserole. BLECH!

That was the first time I tried that type of fish and my three oldest girls tried it too and we all just loved it. YUMMY! My new favorite fish. Such a shame that finding ANY fish decent and fresh enough to trust in this state is so difficult.

Birthday today-Eat in. Pizzas: One mushroom and canadian bacon; one pepperoni, tomato, and green pepper.

Anniversary tomorrow-Eat out. We have a nice, quiet little place overlooking the river that runs through town that serves good food and has 'atmosphere'.

Valentine's Day Monday- Eat in. Probably something from a box or some leftovers. After all, Val's Day is only a Hallmark holiday.
