In 1Pet.3:19 there is a mention of spirits of in prison. in verse 18 there is a mention of the resurrection. The connection is what Jesus did just before He arose from the dead. Those who died in Christ went to Heaven and those who died without Christ or belief in Jehovah went to Hell. The Bible is consistent about that. Show me where the Bible ever deviates from that. But these are spirits in prison, the same spirits spoken of in Jude 1:6 and 2Pet.2:4. The only way of salvation that I know of is through Christ. All those before Christ were saved the same way: faith alone in Jehovah: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Ruth, and all the OT saints--they were all saved the same way. They went to paradise like the thief on the cross did, like Lazarus did. They all went to paradise, not prison. No saint ever went to prison. Prove that they did. Prove that there is a second way to heaven, that there is more than one way to heaven.
Give me evidence that anyone in the early centuries condemned infant baptism other than Tertullian, who denounced for other heretical views that have nothing to do with the Baptist position of the issue.

What happened in the times of Noah?
Noah and his family were saved, sometime after the flood they died, and went to paradise.
The rest of the world perished in the flood. They disobeyed God, rejected God, and went to HELL, not a prison, but hell. For them there will be a resurrection and they will stand before God, even as the residents of Sodom and Gomorrah will stand before God at the Great White Throne Judgement in their resurrected bodies. As it will be for Sodom, so it will be for those that perished in the Flood. For now they are all in Hell.
Who then is in this "prison."
They are the "sons of God" mentioned in Genesis 6, or fallen angels. Fallen angels are also "spirits." They are elsewhere called "evil spirits." Sometimes "demons." Or even "a spirit." But they are spirits. These are the spirits that are in prison, and they are there for the great iniquity that they did, mentioned in the context of the passage in verse 20.

--This is the same situation. Fallen angels that sinned. When? During the time of Noah. Where are they now? In a prison, delivered into chains of darkness. It is the same picture of a prison. They are kept there until the Great White throne Judgment. Note, they are fallen angels, spirits.
And again,
Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
--The same picture as 2Pet.2:4,5 and as 1Pet.3:18,20. All three pictures give a picture of the same thing. They are fallen angels, spirits in prison awaiting their final sentence at the Great White Throne Judgment.

It would be natural for Christ to proclaim his victory to the fallen angels, the followers of Satan, for there on the cross he conquered Satan once and for all. Satan has been defeated. We have the victory in Christ.
So what?
The scripture in Ephesians is about Jesus ascending, and you say so what. You want to teach like Kenneth Copeland, and the like ministries, that Jesus bothered to ascend to say to Satan and his angels I won, or something to that affect is non biblical.
Why would Jesus tell the angels and Satan anything?

Those scriptures say nothing about fallen angels, or demons. The word spirit is not used for fallen angels or demons. Not only that, why would Jesus preach to demons? Demons do not have a chance at salvation.

--The "sons of God" were fallen angelic beings that had taken human form, and taken wives or committed immorality with the "daughters of men", something that God did not approve of.
What does it say:
Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
--God's longsuffering was over. "My spirit shall not always strive with men, for that he also is flesh. And then he said that his days shall be 120 years in comparison to the previous 900 plus. The Flood was about to come.
Genesis 6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
--Man would be destroyed. His spirit would go to hell.
Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
--But Noah and his family were saved.
There is no reason to believe that Noah's extended family, other relatives, etc. would have inherited a special place in hell, a prison, in chains of darkness waiting the coming judgment, as it is described. This is not the description of the spirits of men.
1Pet.3:19 and Jude 6, etc. describe these fallen angels, also called "spirits" who had precipitated the Flood. God's longsuffering was over. His judgement would now be poured out on the earth. It was the last straw.

The Bible leaves no one out of the Day of Judgment, absolutely no one. There is even a day of judgment for angels. All shall be judged. "The beast and the false prophet shall be cast into the Lake of Fire prepared for the devil and his angels" (Rev.20:10).The Bible speaks of humans being held until the Day of Judgment.

David didn't have a lot of good to say about his enemies did he. Why weren't these ones put in that prison? Why not the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, or Capernaum? No, it was reserved for the fallen spirits in the time of Noah, as the Scriptures say:

It is such nonsense for you to teach that Jesus preached to the demons, and then you try to use scripture to support this farce. Why would Jesus preach to demons? Do you think the demons will benefit from the gospel?
